Time: 3:30 PM, Oct 10th, 2026
Location: Nolan Park House 17, Governors Island, New York, NY, USA
“Pending Paused” is an on-site installation with an interactive performance by Hsiao-Chu (Julia) Hsia to discuss borders set on nature to divide land and water. The movement performance with participatory sections invites the audience to reflect on the boundaries that are marked to claim possessions, dividing people in and out. It speaks to the shared experiences in the immigrant community across self-identification and personal liberty. taken in Governors Island by @taac2014

On this special Mid-Autumn Festival, although heavy clouds kept us from seeing the full moon, nature rewarded us in another beautiful way—with a magnificent sunset sky and even a rainbow! 🌈🌅🥮

We’re so glad we kept going despite the uncertain weather and made the Carry Water performance and our Mid-Autumn Festival celebration happen. In the end, the sky gave us an unexpected and unforgettable gift.

No full moon in sight, but a rainbow and a spectacular sunset made this Mid-Autumn Festival at TAAC House 17 on Governors Island especially memorable. ❤️🌕

🌿CLIMATE WEEK NYC | PLANTS WHO SPEAK 🌿
Workshop & Ceremony with Jimena Vega & Sarah Walko

📅 Saturday, October 3rd | 2–4 PM
📍 TAAC House 17, Nolan Park, Governors Island

What might plants tell us if we learn how to listen?

Join us for a creative exploration of our relationship with nature. Walk through the green landscape of Governors Island, gather fallen leaves and natural materials, and create botanical monotypes using plants as both material and inspiration.

Together, we’ll transform our individual prints into a collective nature altar and ceremony—a shared installation connecting plants, images, people, and place.

🌱 Walk. Observe. Collect. Print. Listen. Gather.

Free & Open to the Public
Presented by Taiwanese American Arts Council (TAAC)
