October is designated as Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) Awareness Month, raising awareness for a rare condition affecting about 18 in every 100,000 people.

What is an AVM?
* Definition: An arteriovenous malformation is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels that directly connect arteries and veins, skipping the normal capillary network.
* Impact: This missing capillary network causes high-pressure blood flow directly into fragile veins, which weakens vessel walls and carries a high risk of rupture, bleeding, seizures, or stroke.
* Location: While they can occur anywhere in the body, they are most frequently found in the brain or spine.

Today was extra special. I’m in the Bay Area walking, talking, laughing, and sharing stories with three amazing women who are also ruptured brain aneurysm survivors. 🧠💛

There is something so powerful about being surrounded by people who truly understand. We may have different stories, but we are connected by hope, strength, and resilience.

Be blessed, stay connected, and remember—you are never alone. 💛💙
