Sometimes you don’t realise how much you needed to be in a room until you finally get the chance to exhale. I was surrounded by so many powerful women, all achieving, building and carrying so much. Google me. 👀 One of the best things you can do for your business is build a presence OUTSIDE social media. When I work with founders, I always emphasise that strategic exposure and storytelling are vital. This is the difference between playing small and opening intentional doors.Followers are great. But your reputation should exist beyond Instagram. Build a brand people can Google, find and trust. Social media is a tool. If I had to start again tomorrow, I’d do these 5 things differently. 1. I’D BUILD FOR PROFIT, NOT APPEARANCES. I wouldn’t care about looking successful. I’d keep overheads low and make sure the numbers made sense first. 2. I’D GET REALLY GOOD AT ONE THING. I wouldn’t try to offer everything. Becoming known for one thing helped me build a much stronger brand. 3. I’D BUILD AN AUDIENCE BEFORE I NEEDED TO SELL TO THEM. Community, trust and visibility are assets. I’d start building them from day one. 4. I’D PUT STRUCTURE IN PLACE WHILE THE BUSINESS WAS STILL SMALL. How enquiries come in. How customers are followed up. How bookings are managed. How customers come back. I’d build the customer journey early. 5. I’D THINK LIKE THE CEO BEFORE THE BUSINESS NEEDED ONE. I’d spend less time asking, “What do I need to do today?” and more time asking, “What business am I actually trying to build?” I built my first 7 figure business organically, with minimal debt and no investors. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t necessarily work harder. I’d build smarter, earlier.
