If you are new here, Hi there, Friend! 👋
I am Tabitha, and this page is starting a new chapter.

I am 47. I teach sixth-grade math, I served in the Navy, and I am a mom of 4 and a grandma of 2. For years this page was all fitness and nutrition, because that is what I coached. I lost 140 pounds, and I loved helping women get strong.

That weight loss changed my travel, too. I am more comfortable in my own skin now, in a bathing suit, on a beach, wherever we land. I have the energy to walk all day, carry my grandbabies, get down in the sand with them, and hold them for long walks without thinking twice. I never want to watch my family make memories from a chair.

But here is what I never showed you much of: the trips. Jerod has always made the time to book our family vacations, cruises especially, because he knew I needed the time off. I didn’t post much of the trips because it didn’t fit my fitness “niche”.

Not anymore. Now I help families plan cruises and all-inclusives, and I get to post the fun part, too, the packing, the formal nights, the grandbabies seeing new places.

If you are a woman with a family who wants more memories and more possibilities, you are in the right place. Stick around, too.

“Here she goes again.”

That is probably what some of you are thinking. And honestly? I get it.

I have always been a high achiever. I push myself to do better. Be better.
Provide more for my family.

For years I worked two jobs and ran a side hustle at the same time. I have sold kitchen gear, clothing, jewelry, soap, deodorant, detergent, vitamins. I loved every product I shared and I still use them. They paid for things I love. But I never got financially sound with any of them.

Then I tried online coaching. I invested too much in a system I was already implementing. I fell for the sales pitch that it would set me up to crush getting clients. That one made me feel like a failure the most.

And still, here I am. Trying again. Jumping back in.

I have been through hard things. Military life. Raising kids. Marriage. Hard seasons I did not talk about much. Balancing all of it.

I have accomplished a lot, and I still wish I had accomplished more. I wish I had been strong enough to tell my husband I wanted to stay in the military and retire. I grew up poor, and the money struggle followed me into adulthood.

It is hard. I see people who are financially successful and I want that for my family, too.

So here is where I am now. I am excited about travel. I get to help families make memories, and it helps pay for our own family’s travel, too. I still love teaching. I am good at it, and students need good teachers. I just want to be paid for all the time, energy, effort, and demands that teaching requires.

My dream is simple. Make memories with my family. Own property in Mexico. Work remotely. Travel to see my kids, grandkids, and parents. I want to pass down the Mexico property from generation to generation, which is possible because of my birth place and ancestry.

I am not pretending I have it all figured out. I am just a woman who keeps trying, because my family is worth trying for.

Have you ever started over, scared people would judge you for trying again?

I started my wellness journey before my husband. The first video was taken when I had already lost 60 lbs
and HE had decided he was ready, too.

If you have a partner who isn't on the same page as you, it is ok. You can still accomplish a great deal. You can't force that person to make changes with you. However, once your partner is ready, it makes it 1000% better. It is easier to have the whole family on the same page, working toward better health.

I am proud of my husband for listening to advice and my gentle concern.

You can do it! I believe in you.💕 by @tabitha_dennison

Stupid simple things I did to go from needing a seatbelt extender to buckling in with room to spare.

It was a change, and if I wanted the change, it had to become a priority. My workouts went on the calendar. I walked a lot. And I stopped waiting to find more time, because priorities do not fit into the cracks of life. They go on the calendar, and they get done.

When I flew to Mexico by myself in May 2023, I buckled that seatbelt with no extender, and I was not worried about the seat next to me, either. That moment was years of simple things adding up.

That pivot taught me I can pivot again when a part of my life is not working. I did it with my health first.

140 pounds down, and it started with simple. It didn’t feel simple at first, but become easier.

What is one simple thing you could put on your calendar this week?

This is what community looks like to me.

Women in Wealth exists for women who want more for their families. More memories. More options. More support while they build.

It matters to me because I am not building this alone. I have women beside me who are learning, too. We cheer for each other. We share what works. We keep going.

It is not just support, though. I am surrounding myself with women who are further along than I am. Some have made six figures selling travel. Some have used this business to leave teaching. One was able to buy a wheelchair for her special needs child. Others have built two and three streams of income.

Those are their stories. They are not a promise, and they are not the story for everyone. I am paying attention because they used the same tools and the same system I am learning now.

Successful people say you grow by being around people who stretch you. I believe that, and I want to become better, too.

Have you ever had a group of women in your corner like that? by @tabitha_dennison

I love my students. I am good at what I do. But there are parts of this job that wear on me because so much of the work is invisible.

1. Hearing it must be nice being off at 3:15. My nervous system has been overstimulated for seven hours straight, and my brain does not clock out when the last bell rings.

2. Being told teachers get summers off like it is paid vacation. Summer is not paid. I am paid for contract days, and the school year runs on nights, weekends, and my own money more often than people realize.

3. Sitting in an IEP meeting for 2.5 hours and not getting paid for that time. It is not the student, and it is not the plan. Those matter, and I care about getting them right. What bothers me is how often teachers are taken advantage of because we care. We give the invisible time, the emotional energy, and the extra hours outside the school day, and it gets treated like it should just be part of the deal, too. Caring about kids should not mean our time is free.

I see you, Teachers.

I am the age my mother was when we were all older teenagers, still at home.

Back then, I never once thought about how it would feel to be her age. Now I am here, and I understand so much more about what she was carrying, and how strong she had to be.

And standing here at her age, I look around at the women beside me, and I do not see a crisis. I see a comeback. We are walking. We are lifting. We are showing up for our health, and for our families, stronger than we were before. This is a midlife upgrade.

I am proud of us. Proud of every woman who decided her second half gets to be her strongest one.

Send this to a friend, a sister, a daughter, whoever you know who needs to hear it today. And save it for the days you need to hear it, too.

Have you reached the age your mom was when you were growing up? What do you understand now that you did not then?

No haunted house needed. Real life is scary enough sometimes, especially when you are planning a trip with your whole family.

Which one hit you hardest? Tell me in the comments, and tell me what I missed.

You can do hard things if you put your mind to it.

I put my mind to losing weight and improving my health, and I continue to do that. It was hard. It was challenging. And I did it, one step at a time.

If it is wanting to start a new business, or a new adventure, or a new career, or whatever it is for you, it is possible. It will be hard, and it will be challenging, but you are able to accomplish it.

What hard thing are you putting your mind to right now?

💕Tabitha by @tabitha_dennison

You can do hard things, even when no one sees how hard it has been.
I have felt that, and I am still doing it, one step at a time.
What hard thing are you putting your mind to right now?

You deserve more.
But “more” does not look the same for all of us, and I think that is the part we forget.

For one woman, more might be more education. For another, more possibilities. More vacation. More good friends. More health. More stability. More weight loss. More time with the people she loves most.

And yes, for some of us, more might be another way to make money for our family.

When I turned 40, my “more” was health. I wanted more longevity, more ability to not be sick, more ability to live a longer, healthier life. More ability to go up the stairs, more ability to do activities, more ability to not have my body ache all the time.

That is where my more of losing weight and getting my health back began, and my lifestyle totally changed.

There is a pivot in life, always, if we want to grow and if we want to choose more. It is so easy to stay right where we are, even when where we are is not quite enough anymore.
For me now, more looks like more memories, more possibilities, and more life together. That is what I am building toward, one step at a time.

So I want to ask you honestly, what is the more you are wanting right now? And what pivot are you choosing?

Today’s to do list, sixth grade math teacher edition:

1. Teach math to 30 sixth graders who are somehow hungry, tired, and full of energy all at the same time.

2. Grade the papers that didn’t get done yesterday, because I was grading papers.

3. Input data into a spreadsheet that was supposed to get done during prep hour, but didn’t get done, because I was busy emailing parents, tracking interventions, prepping the next lesson, and analyzing data.

4. Try to find five minutes to use the bathroom. You know that doesn’t happen.

6. Repeat myself and give the instructions a gazillion times, just to have a student ask, “What are we supposed to do?”

7. Eat my food as fast as possible, or don’t finish it at all, because I only have 20 minutes for lunch.

8. Hall duty. Bus duty. Ugh!

🤩And then, book the cruise.🛳️

Because this is the reason, this is the exact reason why I need a cruise. And I’m building a way to do it.

Teachers, what’s on your to do list?
