I’m so honoured to be a part of this collaborative exhibition, curated by @mazmcgann featuring 11 other brilliant artists, organised by @guildhouse_au

My contribution is a series of 6 monoprints that explore the intersections of imprisonment and Aboriginal sovereignty. The work examines how institutions shape, control, and mark the body.

The question of sovereignty runs through the collection, positioning carceral institutions as ongoing evidence of colonial violence rather than seperate from it.

Collectively, the works act as both witness and refusal, insisting on the continued presence, humanity, and sovereignty those very systems attempt to contain and erase. by @tabithalean

Just like putting assault rifles in the hands of cops on our streets, arming kids with pepper spray does not create safer communities.

More weapons = less safety.

Visit to Ngunnawal Country.
Honoured to stand beside formerly incarcerated people and allies to fight for the human rights of women and children in prison.

Huge gratitude to @senatorthorpe for the fight she took to the Senate to stop the torture and sexual assault of people inside.

Yesterday’s decision to not allow a vote on @senatorthorpe Bills to abolish the shackling of people giving birth and abolishing the strip searching of children was an act of political cowardice.

Ending violence against women cannot be conditional on whether a woman is considered respectable, deserving or worthy of protection.

Human rights do not stop at the prison gate. Bodily autonomy does not disappear when a woman is imprisoned.

Children do not lose their right to dignity because the state has labelled them “offenders”.

If Labor and the LNP are serious about ending violence against women, they must be prepared to confront it wherever it occurs — including within the institutions they govern.

Many women in Parliament let us down today by voting against @senatorthorpe Bills to end the shackling of pregnant people and those giving birth and ending the strip searching of children. So much for feminism and ending violence against women.

Strip searching is sexual assault by the State.

Nothing about us without us. No more violence hidden behind prison walls.

Today, Parliament blocked Senator Lidia Thorpe’s bills from being voted on. The jelly backs weren’t prepared to put their names to a vote.

But seriously, where were all the feminists who carry on about the safety of women? Where were you all while we were fighting for women to NOT BE SHACKLED during birth? Or kids to NOT BE STRIP SEARCHED? Absolute *crickets*

All this shows us formerly incarcerated women is that we are not the women deserving of your solidarity or campaigning.

Shameful to see the Minister for Women justify the continued shackling of women giving birth. The inquiry showed that the Commonwealth has power to stop this. People need to realise that when the Albanese government calls this a state and territory issue, that’s not a legal argument, it’s a choice they are making. by @tabithalean

Honoured to have my work exhibited amongst these brilliant artists.

Thanks @guildhouse_au for the opportunity

@reshare_app • @guildhouse_au The Hidden in Plain Sight exhibition is now showing at @adelaideairport for @anti_poverty_week 2026 💝

Hidden in Plain Sight explores financial hardship, resilience and hope through the eyes of twelve contemporary artists and invites audiences to reconsider what poverty looks like and who experiences it.

Featuring: Abbey Murdoch @abbeymurd0ch, Bianca Joanna Buliga @biancajoannaphotography, Catherine Fitz-Gerald @catherinefitzgeraldartist, Chloe Noble @chloejessnoble_art, Emiko Artemis @emikoartemis, Gus Clutterbuck @gusso64, Katherine Grocott @katherinegrocott, Makeda Duong @makedaduong, Meg Mader @megmaderartist, Tabitha Lean @tabithalean, Tieyuan (Vivian) Zhou @tieyuan_zhou, Tom Phillips @tom.phillips.9028194

Developed through a Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) approach and curated by @mazmcgann Maz McGann, the exhibition was shaped collaboratively by the participating artists through conversation, reflection and shared creative development. Rather than illustrating a predetermined message, the artists have contributed their own perspectives, stories and artistic responses, resulting in a nuanced exploration of poverty that resists stereotypes and centres lived experience.

Read Maz McGann’s curatorial essay and learn more about the artworks on our website.

Hidden in Plain Sight is presented by Guildhouse and Adelaide Airport with generous support from The Wyatt Trust and will be on display at Adelaide Airport from 12 October 2026 to 29 January 2027.
