✨🎶 This holiday season, we welcomed our artist-in-residence, Belongó | Afro Latin Jazz 🎷 and Trio Lechón 🪘, to El Nuevo San Juan Health Center! 🏥
What began as a performance quickly became moments of joy, connection, and healing 💛 as patients and staff paused to listen, dance 💃🏽🕺🏽, and be fully present together.

🎨💙 This experience is part of our #ArtsForEverybody initiative and reflects our commitment to whole-person care. By integrating music and other creative experiences into our health centers and encouraging patients to engage with art through social prescribing, UHP continues to promote emotional well-being, reduce stress 🌿, and strengthen community connections 🤝.

Meet Andrea Mosquera, a music therapist and our most recent Artist-in-Residence at Urban Health Plan. Through live music, she helped patients feel at ease before appointments while connecting them to sounds and cultures that felt like home.

As Andrea shares,
“A lot of patients really appreciate the accessibility of being able to listen to live music. It’s truly a privilege to offer them a moment to breathe, relax, and simply listen.”

🎄 Here’s a recap of our 3rd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting with Santa! 🎅

We welcomed the holiday spirit with festive carolers, photos with Santa, and gifts for all.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Executive Director Sasha Ortiz for her hard work and leadership, as well as our incredible event staff, board members, the 43rd Precinct, and their auxiliaries for helping make this event a success.

We are also grateful for the continued support of our amazing Council Member Amanda Farías, Assembly Member Karines Reyes, Senator Nathalia Fernandez, and everyone who joined us to celebrate.

What an unforgettable Boo Bash! 🎃✨
This year’s celebration was an incredible success, thanks to our amazing merchants, dedicated community members, and the NYPD for showing up and pouring so much heart into this special event. The kids (and adults!) were mesmerized by our magician—so many smiles, so much excitement, pure magic in the air!

Huge shoutout to Council Member Amanda Farias, Assembly Member Karines Reyes, SBS, and our 43rd Police Precinct for their continuous support and presence in our community. And a big round of applause to Lulu Coffee Shop and Milly’s Party center, confetti Party place for stepping up, getting involved, and giving back in such a meaningful way.
