This guy is 40-years old. 15 spent with me. It’s survived several tours, some without a case wrapped in a moving blanket. Meticulously repaired many times by @mdm_repairs. With only 4 VCOs, 1-filter and 2 envelopes it checks very few boxes on the feature list, but it always sounds good. This Korg Mono/Poly is my desert island synth. by @taconicstudios

It’s been one week since the release of dreamachine!

It was great to work with the Habibi again and produce the record with my main cohorts and players @tyler.l.o.v.e @radiorahill @lennylynch @lylatimes @zzzs_yukary @ana_becker at @taconicstudios in New York.

Thanks to @timmdon for holding the whole thing together @heba_kadry for the amazing mastering job and @killrockstarsofficial for being a supportive label.

My band @worlddestroyerspleasureclub is on the road with Habibi this week in California. Make sure to check out one of the shows!

I’m a drum mic minamalist and my perfect drum sound is a center Coles 4038, RE-20 on a no front head kick, and Beyer M 201 top and bottom snare. But @calebgnomes and I wanted to experiment. We wound up with 11 mics, including stereo pairs of Telefunken TF47s in a mid-side config, Telefunken M260s with hyper-cardio capsules on the hi-hat and ride, etc. In the end we muted everything but the kick, snares, and hi-hat 🤷🏻‍♂️ by @taconicstudios

Experimenting with how I do recalls on analog mixes. I’ve tried @session_recall, pencil paper, and in my experience, photos and annotations are the least amount of work and fastest to recall. At this point I feel like the SSL total recall and Neve Genesys systems are just a marketing gimmick. I can pull up an entire mix, do moderate channel and mix bus insert patching for a 24-channel mix in ~10min from these photos. by @taconicstudios
