Last minute addition to our August programme 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ honestly over the moon about this!

Artific-onnect by Tai-Hsin Chang

Artific-onnect is a 1-on-1 live performance work for one performer and one stranger at a time. Twenty minutes. A room. Two bodies. It begins with a machine — and ends with something a machine cannot yet name.

The work unfolds in two movements. In the first, two people’s every gesture is guided by real-time audio prompts, which are generated by artificial intelligence. The audience is invited to decide the dance theme of the day, and the algorithm does the rest of the choreographic work. While these two people connect themselves to AI’s movement instructions, does it make them better dancers, or are they restricted by it?

Then AI steps aside. The performer turns and fully focuses on the specific person in front of them — reading their breath, their stillness, the thing they brought into the room without noticing. What follows is improvised, unrepeatable, and entirely alive to this one moment.

Artific-onnect does not argue that human connection is superior to AI-mediated interaction. It sits honestly inside that question and asks: in a world where algorithms can be tender and precise, what is it that only another person’s presence can offer?

Looking back to Peter and the Wolf, a show that bring my inner child out. Performing with amazing @talesinmotion_danceco in Croydon Fringe, it was almost a luxury to be THIS naughty and playful on stage (e.g cat-fighting with children, etc). @clea_godsill is definitely a magician who knows how to draw every child’s attention. @lizzietreece has such a clear and expressive stage presentation. @freyabrowncreative is so seamless to switch between characters and brings them to life. @maggiefkelly , the amazing lady who create this fun character, cat, and leave me a lot of space to play with. I enjoyed every moment working with this talented team.
There is another show in September, performing by the original cast. Please follow them and check it out!

After the show, there was a lady coming over, patting me (like patting a real cat) and saying, “You are too much like a cat.” And I take it as the biggest compliment 😽

Thank you @vinyji.photograph for the beautiful captures 😍Danced in 2 shows with my recent creation “What Are You Looking At?”, facilitating by @creativerework and @riacttz . This is the first stage of the project. On the path of exploring what sexiness /means/ might be/ can be, I would definitely bring this further.

最近一個大忙碌的原因就是因為這個作品「What Are You Looking At?」。

Introducing Tai-Hsin
Dancer in Peter and the Wolf
Playing: Cat

🎭 Tai-Hsin is a London-based Taiwanese performing artist working across dance, physical theatre, and live art. Trained in acting and performance, she went on to work as a company dancer at Dance Forum Taipei — performing across black box theatres and major stages throughout Taiwan, and collaborating with international choreographers at a range of scales and contexts.

🎓 Alongside her stage career, she has spent over eight years as a dance educator, leading weekly classes and arts engagement workshops with children and adults alike. This dual practice has sharpened her understanding of how bodies communicate, and how performance can open genuine spaces of encounter.

💃 Now based in London, she performs across the city's venues while developing her own work as an independent artist. by @tacychang

I feel extremely privileged to attend Gold Capsule UK & Ireland Final with my amazing colleague @anegarcia24 and @zsebehenrietta at Nespresso. I would never know there’s such an unexpected detour in my life to be a coffee specialist and try my best to major coffee tasting. It was such a fun day! I taste my coffee seriously, and taste my wine even more serious 🤣 I’m so grateful this happened in a Japanese restaurant— definitely the best chawanmoshi I ever had!!! Congrats to the two winners of the competition, and all the best to the global final🏆

Had a loooot of fun with amazing Corrine, Mahira, Shashank and Fiona in #scratchtheitch 🤡 The one and only show for “OnlyClowns”🪇
The most unexpecting comment of the night might be: “You are very natural in clown.” Should I start a side career?🤓

One year anniversary moving away from Taiwan
If I need to conclude this year with a word, that would be “fun”
Good fun, bad fun, sarcastic fun, real fun, thrilling fun
Cause life is like an Indian cuisine—you’ll never know what taste would hit you next

Here comes to my London debut!
Thanks for the invitation from @halfpacetheatre . It’s so exciting to be part of this scratch night. I was grouped up with other 5 artists, and….Voilà !
The challenge lies in its organic process, and this is also the fun part.
Link in bio. See ya on Friday🤘🏼

Big thanks to @yruthw for inviting me to this visual shooting a time ago❤️ Tell me how you feel by studio and theatre lenses. And remember to check the full version in her profile!!

If you know me well enough, you might know that I’ve been debating, root-digging, merging, experimenting, and reshaping what jazz dance means to me for a long time. And this, the tiny solo, is the result of all. I want myself staying in the form, but not restricted by it. I want myself interacting with the music, but also having my own rhythm. I want to weld black and Asian culture through my body, and explore what is the essence of jazz.

First project in London done! Can’t wait for the next one 🤘🏼
