“Get Away” - The Vivian Project

“Get Away” is an amalgamation of movement, musicality, and framing that follows the emotional path of the music. It reflects the weight of our thoughts — moving through mental haze, tension, and the subtle pull toward release.

The Vivian Project is a professional platform established in 2022 to fund artistic projects for community dancers.

As the cohort works on building clarity in movement this season, what better way to explore that from a doctor and dance professional who understands movement at a bio-mechanical level? On Day 2, we’ll get to explore how we prepare our bodies for movement through exercises, reflection, and individualized feedback.

As someone who’s been in the bay area dance community for 20 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from so many great teachers in-and-out, dance with amazing peers, and experience the fruits of the labor that this community has brought for me & the new generation of dancers.

And I’d like to pay that forward in service to my community by hosting a free 2-hour, training & choreography class this Sunday at On One Studios. Int/Adv difficulty, open for all dancers.

I have a strong passion to equip dancers with a set of tools to unlock a higher capacity of learning while helping them move with more depth & purpose.

And for the remainder of my dance journey, I hope to provide value continue nurturing this dance community in all the impactful ways that it and its people have served me.

【🔥 Junior Master Class w/ Tad Racca】

Tad Racca @taddybearrr is a San Jose–based dancer, choreographer, and artist with 20 years of experience. He began self-teaching dance in high school through watching an abundance of Shaun Evaristo and Gen2 videos, and later expanded his training across a diverse range of dance forms, from street styles to classical studio styles.

His team background includes Chocolate Factory (2011–2013), now known as Pursuit of Passion, Training Ground (2014–2015), and The Company at Westlake School of Performing Arts, where he danced from 2015 to 2025. His directing and creative work began at the age of 16 when he co-directed SCP (Silver Creek Project), and has since grown to include leading EDS Crew (2022–2024), The Vivian Project (2022–present), and participating in official K-pop choreography submission projects under dancers such as Pat Cruz and Larkin Poynton for artists including iKON, WINNER, SF9, and Stray Kids.

Currently, Tad teaches groove classes at On One Studios, runs his own training program called The Training Cohort for intermediate and advanced dancers, and continues developing creative work through dance films and live performances. His mission is to build stronger dancers in the Bay Area by giving them the tools, guidance, and opportunities to help them find more meaning and purpose in their dance journey.

The amount of editing this took was on psychopathic levels.

But any case, I’ve had this piece in the vault for several months. I wanted to use it for something, but I didn’t know what to do. So I went on a random walk last week and I found a nice spot. From there, it just kind of clicked. I started going at it and experimenting.

The journey making this was so messy and I got lost so many times. However, it was one of those encounters where I just didn’t want to give up on something because I was so excited to see it through. Because the vision was there.

The output isn’t the best, but it was definitely built from nothing to something. Just goes to show when you have a strong vision, it’s easy to stay grounded and keep going. 💪🏻
