Then start your bank holiday Friday night in St Brendan's Church, where Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin with Ian Kinsella, Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz and Conor Lyons open the weekend of concerts with a beautiful array of traditional music with contemporary and original compositions. Support from the brilliant Dáithí Shanahan.

Then stay in town to hear John Francis Flynn, one of the most distinctive voices in Irish folk, lend his voice to old songs as well as new. Support from fiddler Tadhg Breathnach-Peelo and Mike Parle.

Tadhg Breathnach-Peelo is a violinist, woodworker and Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker) based in Ballydehob, West Cork. With over a decade of touring experience, including recent work with Aaron Rowe, The Cranberries, Dermot Kennedy and Muiris, Tadhg brings a distinctive and versatile sound to the stage. Blending ambient textures with folk, jazz and rock ’n’ roll influences, his performances weave expressive violin playing with live looping to create rich, immersive soundscapes. From haunting original compositions to reimagined traditional melodies, Tadhg’s music moves effortlessly between the intimate and the expansive, rooted in a strong connection to Irish language and culture.

This workshop will give everyone a chance to carve a small figurine using a carving knife. Tadhg will teach participants how to use the knife safely and creatively - everyone will leave with the experience to easily use a carving knife for small projects. The workshop will be bi-lingual. My first tour as a dad, I’ll be ditching the dirty nappies for a few days to bring you some fresh tunes alongside some amazing local talent.
I cant wait to be playing alongside these three incredible musicians in Belfast, Dublin and Cork.

Taylor Lally @taylorlally is a songwriter and performer from County Down, Northern Ireland, whose music blends alternative pop, lo-fi textures, and lyrical storytelling. Compared to Rickie Lee Jones vocally with the guitar sensibilities of John Martyn. She went on to study songwriting at BIMM Brighton, and has supported Joachim Cooder, Mary Coughlan, and Teddy Thompson.

From Finglas, Dublin, my good friend @itsdylanharcourt is a singer-songwriter known for his authentic storytelling and amazing dynamic vocal range. Whelan’s agrees, making him part of the Ones To Watch Festival ‘24 and ‘25.
Dylan first cut his teeth busking on Grafton Street. Often Drawing comparisons to artists like Glen Hansard and Damien Rice.

A great day yesterday!

Go raibh míle to everyone who came to take part in my carving workshop at Kilcoe Studios, Ballydehob.

We spend 3 hours together getting a feel for the work that goes into breaking down greenwood by hand - and then carving a simple butter knife shape using a 'scian géar'.

I'll definitely be organising a couple more over the summer so stay tuned here or get onto the mailing list for Kilcoe Studios.

Join us for a day of greenwood carving with Tadhg Breathnach-Peelo (@tadhgwp). Whether you’re completely new to carving or already crafty, you’ll learn essential knife techniques, safe tool use, and how to work confidently with greenwood.

Craft a butter spreader or small hazel elf to take home — and more importantly, leave with the skills to keep carving on your own.

All materials provided. All levels welcome.
