My business is my baby. Before it was a business it was, and still is, my biggest passion. I’ve never gotten branding done because I am BEYOND picky & my whole life I’ve wanted to do everything myself. But a refresh has been long overdue.

From the first call I had with Taennyr to go over my vision, I immediately knew that she was going to execute it so well. From the vintage doily moments to the gentle seashell accents to the hand drawn lettering and hearts… this branding feels like home— like the younger version of Emily who always dreamed of being a wedding photographer and for the past 5 years have been living in a dream come true.

There’s something about the imperfect, nostalgic and hand drawn versions of this branding that speaks to my soul and encompasses all that i’ve ever envisioned. The colors feel true to me. The little icons and logos and textures— far better than I could’ve ever imagined.

I feel a little dramatic about it all, maybe a hint of my nostalgic soul imagining myself looking at this 20 years from now. I feel like this scroll doesn’t even scratch the surface of how perfect it is and all @taennyr created for me. This is just another part of EKP I get to hold onto for years and years to come.

Hugo, boo, my baby boy, Otto, drool boy, bat face, Pisces boy. Today he would have been 15.

Everyone who ever met him fell in love, he was the sweetest, softest, and most gorgeous boy you’ve ever met. To know him was to be obsessed with him. You could blow a raspberry in his belly and he would barely bat an eye; he would put up with anything, he was basically a big teddy bear. He was the most talkative boy always with lots to say, and always at a volume that ensured everyone would hear. He slept in the strangest positions and loved his mommy blankie and chewing on wicker baskets and metal. He converted non cat people and brought families back together. He loved nothing more in the world than standing on a lap (or any part of you, really) and drooling happily without a care—except when he would get his next lap opportunity. He brought joy to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

I can’t believe the sun can rise in a world without him, I can’t believe the world can spin without him in it. And yet the sky and the clouds and the sun will never look the same again without him.

I hope you’re playing with Meowe and keeping Grampy company.

Until our next lap time, my baby boy. 🩶🪽🌈

a year ago today I lost my best friend in the entire world, she still means everything to me and my life will never be the same without her. she will forever be the best thing that ever happened to me and I’m grateful for the 15 years I was lucky enough to spend with her. I will forever miss seeing her running across the yard, playing in the breeze, and lounging in the sun. not a day goes by that I don’t miss her more than anything. thank you to everyone who helped me look for her that day, who shared my posts, or who offered kind words. and thank you so much @freeorgy for giving me the most perfect tattoo so that I can have a bit of her with me always. 🤍✨ by @taennyr
