I finally hung my degree in my office and that’s a big deal for me.

A year ago this month, I passed my thesis defense. It was an event that started a series that tried to lead to what honestly felt like my downfall. I passed my defense and was immediately, deeply hurt my someone I cared about. It seemed that my reputation tanked quickly. I lost some friends. I allowed this to ruin the entire experience for me plus some. It brought to me to an all time low and got to a point where I couldn’t tell which was up.
I think that period- between July and February- taught me a lot about who I am and who I want to be. The realization came to me that I had too much faith in a couple of things:
I had too much faith in my own abilities, thinking that if I worked hard enough, if I helped enough people, if I were just… good enough then God would be proud of me or something and some kind of good would come of it. That’s not how it works.
I also had too much faith in the worth of my identity through someone else’s perspective. I felt like every time something at work failed, a friendship failed, it meant my worth and value also failed. That’s also not how it works.

Something in February broke me, and to this day I don’t really know what it was, but I’m so thankful for it. Since then, I have learned the antithesis of everything I thought above.

If my identity is not rooted in Christ, if I’m not fully dependent on God, I’m going to be in the perpetual state of feeling unlovable, inadequate, and like the only consistent thing about me is my failure.

My degree is hung not just to showcase my education, but to testify how God used all of the weakest parts of my heart to make me realize how unreliable my foundations were. Because despite what my weaknesses tell me, His word tells me I’m wonderfully made (psalm 139), unconditionally loved (romans 8), chosen (ephesians 1), worthy (John 3), and seen (Genesis 16).
Where do you find your identity? What are you depending on? Because if it’s some earthly thing or person, maybe it’s time to reevaluate.

leadership camp 2026☺️☀️

i'm overwhelmed with gratitude at the Lord's goodness over this week. honestly i've struggled opening up about a lot of things to people + allowing them to help me carry it, but this week the burden of trying to carry it all myself + put up this standard of perfectionism was broken.

the Lord broke down walls in my life, helped me to deny my flesh and instead surrender to Him, and made me recognize the root of my thoughts and actions. He taught me that walking in biblical community is so vital to our Christian walk + that accountability is something that we all need and lack.

i'll be reflecting on this week for a long time but this stuck out to me "real commitment carries a real cost." through walking with Jesus, you will face difficulty, struggles, sin, etc. But relying on Him + choosing Him in the midst of it is the biggest blessing.

He is so beyond good + i am so thankful for the friendships He has lead me to🤍🤍

thank you fca, epworth, and huddle 19 for the best summer memories and for the abundance of spiritual transformation. the past six years have been nothing short of amazing, and i am so blessed to have experienced the Lord move on these grounds.

Thank god for camp!

My God is so kind.

There are things in my life that I’ve wanted. There are things I’m still waiting on. There are questions I still have. There are things I’ve mourned over and things I’ve been hurt by.
But my God is so kind.

Scripture tells us that the Lord does not withhold good from those who walk in obedience (Psalm 74:11), and that He works all things together for His good for those that love Him (Romans 8:28).
My God is so kind.

With that being said, in any situation I sit in as I walk obediently to His word, He is not withholding good. That is certain. So the only other alternative- the perspective I choose to have- is that He is graciously sparing me from something I want when His has a plan so much sweeter.

I have felt lonely, but He’s protected me from so much heartbreak. I’ve felt rejected, but He gave me such better opportunities. I’ve been left behind, but He has stuck closer than a brother.
My God is so, so kind.

I’m in a time of a lot of uncertainty, but I count it all joy (Jame 1:2-3). I choose to look at it as an opportunity that He has to use me as a testament of His faithfulness. His gracious no’s and His loving silence is evidence of His protection and overwhelming grace in my life, and yours as well.

Our God is so kind.
