It's going down tonight!!

THE party TONIGHT is mostly just free dance, not led dancing.

We're throwing in a few led dances and some semi-professional performances in the center of the dance floor here and there to keep it what Chaya LIKES TO call... Afrikazi, but it's mostly just you and your friends rocking out to Afrobeats, hip-hop, 90's and 00's dance house music, Reaggeaton, and more. Amazing playlist, and we're keeping it clean just like last time. 💯 So if you thought this was a boring dance class, um: no. It's a club-style extravaganza. Final tickets going now at https://tickchak.co.il/73469

While I’ve posted many dance videos on my Kol Isha Instagram site and other places as well, posting this video “Why Dance Ibo at the Yerushalyim African Dance Chanukah Party?” makes me feel vulnerable. Here I am with my friend and Machol Aviv dancer Tziporah Eisen answering that question. How many times in the Tanakh does Hashem tell us not to be afraid, and these words of Zecharia bring me much comfort and joy.

Zecharia 10:6-9
And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and the house of Joseph I will save.
And I will cause them to settle, for I have bestowed mercy upon them. And they shall be as though I had not forsaken them, for I am the Lord their God, and I will answer them.
And Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as if [with] wine. And their children shall see and rejoice; their heart shall be joyful with the Lord.
I will whistle to them, and I will gather them, for I have redeemed them. And they shall multiply as they multiplied.
And I will sow them among the peoples, and in the distant places they shall remember Me. And they shall live with their children and return.

We performed a set @nefeshbnefesh for the @100funthings comedy night, and the laughs were HUGE!

“Line!” is an improv game where the audience helps us set up a scene, and as the characters play it out, each character stops in the middle of what they’re saying and yells out “line!” Whatever the audience yells back is what we must say. 😅

Here is an improv marriage counseling session.

Performed by @julieshtick @debbieimprov and Avital Macales.

I am delighted to share a special moment about my book Iconic Jewish Women, which features a chapter on the incredible Nechama Leibowitz. Nechama was a brilliant Torah scholar, educator, and commentator, whose work transformed the way we study Jewish texts today. Her unique ability to make Torah accessible and meaningful to everyone has left a lasting impact on Jewish education worldwide. This note below is from Nechama Leibowitz’s niece:

“Shana tova Aliza. Your chapter on Nechama Leibowitz, the late aunt of my late husband, in your book on Iconic Jewish Women is excellent. When I see you I will innumerate the virtues of your book. Can I come over today or tomorrow to buy another 2 copies in English and ask you to sign them. Sign one of them to my granddaughter Naomi Leibowitz (a great-grandniece of Nechama).”

It has been an honor to highlight Nechama Leibowitz’s legacy, alongside other inspiring Jewish women, in this book. Their stories remind us of the power of wisdom, resilience, and dedication in shaping our community and heritage. #nechamaleibowitz #jewishwomen #amisraelchai🇮🇱 #batmitzvah #judaism #women #womenempowerment #womenempoweringwomen #jewishbooks

What a night of laughter and unity we had! 😂

From secular to religious and everything in between, our diverse lineup of comedians hosted by Braha Bender from 100 Fun Things had us in tears at the NBN Aliyah Campus for an unforgettable evening of comedy.

A big thanks to all who attended. Your support helped raise funds for Magen, an organization dedicated to creating safer Jewish communities in Israel and worldwide.
