There are four or five of these little great tits (?) and they're at the feeder at a rate of 1 every 6 seconds. I had let it empty in Sunday's snow. ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ Reminded me of one of Thomas Hardy's wonderful bird poems, written from the birds' point of view: ❤️ 🖌 ❤️ 'Around the house the flakes fly faster, And all the berries now are gone From holly and cotoneaster Around the house. The flakes fly!--faster Shutting indoors that crumb-outcaster We used to see upon the lawn Around the house. The flakes fly faster, And all the berries now are gone!' The poem is a triolet which repeats a particular line 3x over 8 lines. Isn't crumb-outcaster wonderful? [story] Part Two. On the morning of the pool party the Japonica Ladies book club all met for coffee and poured over the new amazing book "Swimming Pool" by @maria.svarbova They decided they would all wear matching red swimsuits and red swimming hats and oversized sunglasses when they arrived changing to mirror goggles in the pool.... fortunately, living in New Zealand they all had beautiful suntans as the sun shines all the time there.... They all put on their roller skates with some freshly baked goods in their rucksacks and whizzed off to the bus stop for the two hour bus journey to The Clementine and Carrot Book Clubs home. When they arrived they immediately knew which house the party was in as the front door was festooned with orange balloons and there was the unmissable sound of Michael Bolton coming from the garden.... over the hedge they could see a lady in a wide brimmed sun hat.... They knocked at the door nervously adjusting the straps on their swimsuits and pushing their sunglasses up their nose.... "Hi" a tall lady with long red hair wearing an orange kaftan came to the door "I'm Sadie, come and meet the others..." The Japonica Ladies Book Club walked through the house and out to the pool. There were men in orange swimming trunks handing round orange cocktails and all the ladies of the Clementine and Carrot Book Club were wearing huge hats and sitting under umbrellas...." Hi, Shall we do some synchronised swimming!" Said one of them... The Japonica Ladies Books Club looked at each other So Relieved they had read that book earlier and had worn matching swimsuits- they were also very smug in the knowledge they had done synchronised swimming classes last year and so had a routine to hand.... "Can we do it to Michael Bolton?" A Japonica Lady asked..... "Of course!
