We normally both run @mcrhalf but as @chalkie_bolton had a calf twinge decided to support friends from the sidelines.

Such a great feeling and community spirit from start to finish.

Well done everybody who raced and supported.

Tonight, I wanted to talk about something that means so much more to me than running.

I set myself a goal — 65 kilometres, 40 miles, 54 laps around Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. But every kilometre had a meaning. 65 kilometres for the 65 years my dad was here.

There were moments when it hurt. Moments when my body wanted me to stop and my mind told me that maybe I’d done enough. But I had made a promise to myself, and I had made a promise in honour of my dad — and I was determined to keep it.

Crossing that finish line wasn’t just about completing a run. It was about proving to myself that sometimes we are capable of so much more than we believe.

We can set goals. We can have doubts. We can have setbacks. We can even have days when we don’t feel capable. But if there’s something you truly want to achieve, take that first step — and then take another.

And I think it’s important that we acknowledge our own achievements. We are often so quick to celebrate everyone else, but we don’t always stop and say, “I’m proud of what I’ve done.”

So today, I’m allowing myself to do that.

I’m proud of this achievement. I’m proud that I kept my word. And most importantly, I’m proud that I could do this in honour of my dad.

But what’s perhaps even more amazing to me is that this time last year, I never imagined I’d be standing here talking about running. I certainly never imagined I’d be taking on a challenge like this, pushing myself so far outside my comfort zone and discovering what I’m actually capable of.

A huge part of that journey has been joining Made Running.

Made Running gave me a platform. It gave me an opportunity to challenge myself, but more importantly, it gave me something to build on — strength, discipline and self-belief. It showed me that sometimes you just need the right environment, the right people around you and someone to give you that first opportunity.

So I want to say a genuine thank you to Made Running for believing in me, for giving me that platform, and for giving me the opportunity to stand here tonight and share my story.

Because if there’s one thing I hope people take from my jo
