“Simply Sesame” is like pi – natural, irrational, and very important. 😁 Happy International Pi(e) day everyone! 🥧
————————————
Simply Sesame Baklava Pie 😋 by amazing @nicoleskitchenla 👩🏼‍🍳
•
Ingredients:
-10 sheets of Phyllo Dough
-6 tbsp melted unsalted butter
-3 (8 oz ) packs of firm cream cheese
-1/2 cup Original Sesame Butter
-3 eggs
-1/2 cup sour cream
-1 cup sugar
-2 tbsp vanilla extract
-3 tbsp flour
-1 tsp cardamom
-1 tsp cinnamon
•
Ingredients for Baklava Crumble:
-1/2 cup pistachios
-1/4 cup walnuts
-1/4 cup hazelnuts
-1/4 cup almonds
-1/4 cup honey
-2 tbsp rose water
-1/2 tsp cardamom
•
Directions :
1. Using a 8-10 inch round cake pan, line the bottom of the cake pan with parchment paper cut to the size of the bottom of the pan.
2. Now line each sheet of phyllo dough at the bottom of the cake pan. Now brush each sheet with butter using a pastry brush. Repeat steps till all sheets are layered with butter.
3. Now, using a stand mixer, add cream cheese. Mix until creamy. Then add eggs, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, sesame butter, and flour. Mix until creamy.
4. Meanwhile, in a food processor, pulse baklava nut mixer with all listed ingredients until nuts and honey reach a nut crumble mix.
5. Place half of nut crumble at the bottom of your phyllo sheets. Pour pie mix over nut mix. Top with the rest of the nut mix on top of pie.
6. Bake at 350 for 45 -50 minutes!
7. Let pie cool off for one hour at room temperature. Place in the fridge for 4 hours to reach a completely cold texture! Slice and Enjoy !

Pizza Strip Macarons! I’ve lived in Rhode Island a few years now and haven’t gotten to try this local Italian American snack, but got inspired by it nonetheless for a savory sweet collab
#savorysweetdesserts with @vanillabeanchef & @12kitchens
.
Tomato white chocolate ganache tempered with a lot of U Wanna Pizza Me seasoning from @oceanstatepepperco and some vinegar, olive oil, and a touch of parmesan. There is seasoning in the red portion of the macaron shells and they were baked with it on top. Savory and sweet, I’ll be comparing them to their namesake tomorrow! Would you try these macs?
.
We hunted for some pizza strips today across five Aquidneck Island spots and came up dry, tomorrow we’ve got two places on a better researched list to check out (wish us luck) 😂🙏 Do you have a favorite pizza strip spot? We’d love to know!

New Recipe: Milkbar inspired Compost Cookie Butterscotch Blondies! The name may be long, but these blondies may be my favorite recipe on my blog so far. They’re filled with potato chips, pretzels, graham crackers, chocolate chips, and coffee grounds. Plus there’s a brown butter butterscotch swirl topping to give them the signature golden crackly top! Link in bio to the recipe

This is my submission for the #savorysweetdesserts collab by @12kitchens and @vanillabeanchef
