12 months ago, I shared the parts of my life that people couldn’t see from the outside.

Today, No Fence, No Limits turns one. 🤍

Writing this book meant going back through experiences I’d spent years trying to make sense of. Years of fertility treatments, loss, hope and disappointment. Letting go of the future I’d imagined, and figuring out who I was when that future no longer looked the way I thought it would.

It was a lot to put on paper. Even more to put out into the world.

But I wanted to talk honestly about what happens when life doesn’t follow the plan. About the expectations we carry as women. And about finding the courage to build a life you love, even while you’re grieving the one you thought you’d have.

My journey has taken me through different careers, building 13 Interiors, mentoring, television and eventually becoming an author. There were plenty of moments along the way when I had absolutely no idea what came next.

I wanted that part in the book too.

To everyone who has read it, shared feedback, recommended it to a friend or trusted me with a little of your own story: thank you. Those conversations mean so much to me.

I wrote it with the woman going through fertility struggles in mind. The woman starting again. The woman building a business, changing direction, or quietly wondering, “What now?”

My hope was that sharing my story would help someone feel less alone, and a little more confident about taking her next step.

A year on, that’s still what matters most to me.

I’m proud of this book. And I’m proud of the life I’ve built, even though it looks very different from the one I once pictured.

Books, audio and kindle available via Kelly.donougher.com.
Thankyou to @deanpublishing.australia for helping me bring this to life 🙏

Property update… well, more like a “where we’re at” update, because there’s still no home yet 🫣

We can’t wait to be doing what we love again… yes, including all the stress that comes along with it 😵‍💫😵‍💫

We never rush into property purchases… especially in this market with insane interest rates 🥵🤬 #whenthefuckaretheygoingtostop

Our short-term rental quietly reminding us that we may soon be back fighting for a new rental, so , this morning we put ANOTHER offer in on a prospective property ! 😂 We’ve been actively bidding on a few properties (from small houses to apartments), and today’s lunch conversation had our gorgeous girlfriend acting more referee than designer as we bounced ideas around. #nomichael 🙄

It’s definitely not our first rodeo, and we can’t wait to share the process with you folks again. Although, full disclosure, I already have the powder room wallpaper and kitchen designed in my head 🤡

But we’ve never seen the market, both rental and sales, feel quite this unpredictable. So now we wait… again… for the agents… with hope this is the one 🫠

Graduate Spotlight: Kelly Donougher

Kelly started her journey with us back in 2016 as an interior design student, and look at where that first step has taken her!

She went on to become an Interior Designer, launch her own studio @13interiors, write her book No Fence, No Limits, mentor women in design and now, she’s stepping in front of the camera as a host on @dreamhomesrevealed.aus 🎥

Ten years of evolving, creating, taking chances and backing herself.

Kelly is such a beautiful reminder that you don’t have to know exactly where that first step will take you. Sometimes, you just have to take it.

We couldn’t be prouder. Go Kelly Go! 👏 @kelly_donougher
