A century ago, the Hilldale Club (Darby, PA) got their revenge when they captured the 1925 Negro League World Series defeating the Kansas City Monarchs 5-1 in a rematch of the 1924 series.

This extremely rare ticket is also head home to the @nlbmuseumkc! It was issued to Arthur Chambers suggesting it may have been given to a Negro League player of the same name (who was then a member of the Lincoln Giants of New York City).

The best way I know to kick off Black History Month is to pay my tremendous respect and admiration to the one and only John “Buck” O’Neil.

Buck O’Neil’s contribution to Black History as a baseball coach, scout, mentor, and ambassador is absolutely unparalleled. That contribution is so great that some may forget that Buck was a tremendous player and the primary first baseman for some of the greatest Kansas City Monarchs teams in history from 1938 to 1948.

My friend, Bob Kendrick, the President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, rightfully calls the hallowed halls of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, “The house that Buck built”.

I am thrilled to share my original hand-painted artwork of John “Buck” O’Neil as a young 26-year-old Kansas City Monarchs first baseman in 1938, created using the @Procreate app, and beautifully printed on canvas.

They say sometimes it is hard to know where you are going until you know where you been.

I truly have to thank my Auntie Mary for taking me to the @nlbmuseumkc the 1st time (though she been many times) & historical @18thvine in KC! We went October 12th, 2019 a year before starting my @blackinsports #awardwinning Podcast

Who knew that later I would have the President (Bob Kendrick -> @nlbmprez ) on my show as well as @larry.lester that wasn't born.

So, blessed to have people pour into me, & now this platform I hope it pour into others.

History matters as we prepare our future! Let's protect our history & tell the stories.
