* 🥔 『Book Souvenir』 라는 이름의 책을 만들었습니다. ‘여행에서 사 온 열 권의 책’이라는 부제가 붙은 이 책은, 각자의 자리에서 저마다의 창작을 이어온 여섯 명이 의기투합해 만든, 여행지의 기념품이 책이 되는 사람들의 책 이야기. 책을 통해 여행의 기억을 다시 꺼내보고, 우리가 얼마나 구체적인 방식으로 책을 사랑해 왔는지를 고백하는 이야기입니다. 6명이 소개한 10권 중, 제 첫 번째 책과 이야기를 공유합니다. 이번 주말부터 언노운 북 페스티벌 (potato press 부스 25번), 콜링북스에서 판매합니다! Norton & Company 언제 : 정확히 기억나지 않음 어디서 : 미국 뉴욕 192 BOOKS 미국 뉴욕 하이라인 공원으로 향하던 길, 골목에서 우연히 발견한 192 BOOKS에서 만난 사진집이다. 당시에는 이 책의 사진가인 앙드레 케르테스라는 이름도 몰랐다. 그저 <ON READING>이라는 제목과 표지 사진이 눈에 들어왔다. 책을 읽는 사람들만 담은 사진집이라니. 그것만으로도 구입할 가치가 있었다. 지금도 이 책에는 구입한 서점의 책갈피가 꽂혀 있다. 이 책은 여행지에서 산 책 한 권이 기념품이 될 수 있다는 것을 나에게 알려준 첫 번째 책. 누군가가 직접 그린 작가들의 초상화가 있던 서점의 풍경도 함께 기억난다. 책 속에는 계단에 모인 어린이, 나무에 기대 책을 읽는 사람, 공원 벤치에 앉은 사람, 얼굴은 보이지 않지만 나란히 책을 펼친 소년들까지, 저마다의 독서 모습이 담겨있다. 이미 가지고 있던 이 책을 “혹시 가지고 있을지도 모르지만..”이라는 메시지와 함께 2024년 12월, 책 속 한 장면을 그린 그림과 함께 선물 받기도 했다. 이미 있는 책이라고 하니, 그림만 건네고 책은 건넨 이의 품으로! published by @pressthepotato with @kimpaca @everyblankspace @lucy_yoon @yyyoung_min @rim_ko 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔

An afternoon in and around part of the @highlinenyc Start with Happy Hour tapas and sangria at @tia_pol It’s been around more than 20 years…will probably be around 20 more. Browse the stacks at @192books including possibly the best small collection of books on Palestine in the city (curating @palestinebookshelf gives me a discerning eye). Pause at the historic and gorgeous High Line Hotel. Stop in first for a coffee from some of the friendliest baristas in this part of town, and stay in and work or sit outside and lounge. Get on the High Line, spy a random U-Haul art show of sorts. Walk through a temporary Google Chrome exhibit and check out a chess set made by @joeyb_9 Seriously. Indulged my Dubliner in a very highbrow philosophical literary discussion last night with 🇮🇪 @briangdillon @192books been so many times over the years enjoyed the walk from 10th/23 past my old mini storage where I put my entire West side apartment for 8 months during Covid. This one’s for you @therealsuzannevega (you know how much we ❤️ you we see you nearly every time you’re in nyc sat next to your mum once @talkhousebar Amagansett). From the gallery’s inception, we’ve maintained a robust archive of periodicals, artists’ books, exhibition catalogues, ephemera and other printed material. Over the years, the archive has accumulated many duplicates and now needs room to grow.
