In less than 24 hours, our previous post has blessed so many people, and we’ve been so encouraged by the messages you’ve sent us about how our story has encouraged you too. 🥹🤎 So, we thought we’d share the actual live reaction from the moment we received the word. 😂😭

But listening back to this voice note has had us thinking about something. Why were we so surprised? We had prayed. We had asked God for something very specific. And when it happened we were genuinely shocked!

As Maggie shared in our previous post, she had her doubts. A part of her struggled to believe that God would answer in such a specific way, even though we had asked Him to.

And we wonder how many of us can relate. We say we believe God. We say we trust Him. We pray and ask Him for things. But sometimes, after waiting, experiencing disappointment or simply navigating life, we begin to lose the expectation that He will actually answer.

We believe He can, but do we still believe He will?

One thing this experience has reminded us of is Gideon in Judges 6. He asked God for confirmation, and God graciously met him in his uncertainty.

Our story isn’t about putting God in a box or expecting Him to answer every prayer in the way we imagine. It’s about remembering that we can bring our questions, our requests and even our doubts to Him because God has not stopped answering.

And perhaps, as we wait, part of our journey is learning to trust Him enough to expect Him to be at work, even when we cannot yet see how.

If you’re in a season of waiting, questioning or struggling to believe, we hope this encourages you. You don’t have to pretend to have perfect faith. Keep bringing it all to Him. 🤎

We’re just two imperfect people learning to walk with a perfect God welcome to our little corner of faith, love and life.

A NEW NAME & A NEW CHAPTER 🤎

This name has been part of our story since 2019, long before we became husband and wife. What started as a name my husband envisioned for our future became part of a journey that has taught us so much about faith, obedience and trusting God, even when we don’t have all the answers.

And now, we’re inviting you into this next chapter with us.

We’re two imperfect people learning to build a life that honours God, steward what He’s given us, and enjoy the beautiful, ordinary and sometimes challenging moments of life together.

Through this platform, we’re sharing our life through our faith. From the lessons God is teaching us, to the things we’re learning about family, finances, fitness and simply having fun along the way.

Our desire isn’t to portray a perfect picture or pretend we have it all figured out. It’s to show what God can do with two people who are willing to keep yielding to Him.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how much relationships are really about finding the overlap. My husband’s love language is quality time, and he also really loves the gym 😂 Our schedules recently look completely different, so we’ve had to get good at showing up in the way the other would like in subtle but intentional ways

I feel like that’s what a lot of my friendships and other relationships look like in this season too.

The older I get the more adaptable I feel like we have to become. People become more busy, but it doesn’t mean intentionality in building relationship stops.

One Year. By His Grace.

We didn’t get here because we had it all figured out. We got here because God was faithful when we weren’t sure we knew what we were doing.
One year of marriage has taught us that grace is not just a theological concept, it is the very fabric of what holds a covenant together.
We are not perfect. We are two people who are learning, slowly and sometimes painfully, what it means to love each other well. To lay down our preferences. To communicate when we’d rather shut down. To extend the same mercy to one another that God has so patiently extended to us.
Through it all, the beauty and the stretching God has been present. Holding us. Guiding us. Reminding us that He who began this work is faithful to complete it.

All of it, only by His grace. 🤍

Prayer don’t cancel out a plan, but prayers can help carry the plan forward!

My husband had the plans & after his 4th loss on Wednesday I realised he was going to need prayers!

Though it was only $800 dollars, I could see a drop in his morale. The change in his demeanour and a dwindle in his fire. It had been a total of 4 losses but it had accumulated to $3.2k!

He had the plan, but I had the prayers + I knew he needed that. Today I joined him while he entered his trade. As I sat on his lap, I could feel his heart beat through his shirt, and a slight shake in voice. I asked him why you shaking & by faith he said “I am not cause I know that today will be a win”. (He admitted after that he was nervous)

The market then started to go against his trade, that’s when I said yeah no. I blasted in tongues. I believe strategy + a plan are so important!!! But I am woman who also believes in the scriptures + prayer!! To me they go hand in hand.

I remembered the sermon I preached on Sunday from Judges 20. The Israelites were promised victory, but when the war began it looked like they were losing and their enemies started rejoicing. Today’s trade started off looking like a loss BUT GOD (+ ofc good study of the chart) allowed us to close out with a good $4.5k. You see even with the Israelites they had God, but on the final fight developed a strategy!

My encouragement as we close out the week: whatever looks like a loss at first is still a win!! being able to turn that L into a Lesson makes it a win!! A failure is one who gives up and doesn’t go again!!

Someone asked me the other day why I say our degree… Because it really is ours.

Though my name is on the certificate, I had a village! From my parents, to my siblings to him! I never had to worry about staying in the library late alone because I had him on the phone, so I could feel safe! By the time I walk out the door, there was an Uber booked and waiting for me!

In a generation that celebrates being self-made, I can proudly say I am not.

I am hand-made by God, my drive is community-made & our story is love-made.🤍

6 months married, our 6 lessons on vision + prayer:

1. Your prayers don’t cancel out a plan!
- Too many of us pray for things we haven’t planned for.

2. Prayer gives direction, but planning gives structure.
- Slightly self explanatory… you need both divine direction and disciplined action

3. Write it down.
- If it’s only in your head, it’s just a wish. Put it on paper and make it real. The bible says write the vision and make it plain!

4. Unity multiplies results.
- Agreement activates heaven. 1 can chase 1,000 but 2 can chase 10,000. Partnership amplifies purpose.

5. Small steps are still progress.
- You don’t need to have it all figured out just move faithfully, one step at a time.

6. Review, refine, and realign often.
- Planning isn’t once and it’s done. Revisit your goals, be ready to adjust, and grow.

7. Keep God at the center. (7 for our 7 years together)
You can plan it, but only grace can sustain it.
