When work doesn't quite feel like work....
Last week we headed to @sheepdrove to provide a low waste refreshment station ( with a little help from our friends at @kickstandcoffee.faringdon ) to accompany the amazing Eating Well, Living Well - masterclass and feast run by @intuitivechefkate and @1joissa - what a day and what a venue - we hope to return really soon!

I think we can all agree that slow can be a very good thing. And especially when it comes to how we nourish ourselves: good food - from the grain to the plate - doesn’t happen fast. In a world that’s relentlessly realtime, the magic is in the beat we take to consider where we source our food from and how we prepare it. @1joissa and I invite you to explore that magic with us and @tribezerowaste at @sheepdrove on 18 September. And I’m particularly excited to unveil the menu I’ve created, to bring the slow, quiet life to the table:

Sourdough focaccia, three ways
Naturally neon Bromham pickles
Velvety miso-white bean soup, plum umeboshi

Pasture-raised roast chicken, chermoula
Whole roasted Bromham cauliflowers with rose harissa, green tahini sauce
Mujadara (Middle Eastern rice, lentils and caramelised onions)
Whipped feta, raw and roasted tomatoes, smoked almonds
Heritage carrot and beetroot slaw, ginger-cider dressing
Local leaves, figs, black garlic vinaigrette

Apple and rosemary sorbet

So looking forward to bringing the softest, mellowest tones of early autumn to the table in every plate 🌾🙌

Eating Well, Living Well - Master Class and Autumnal Feast at Sheepdrove Organic Farm

Friday 18 September 2026, 10am - 4pm

As we prepare to harvest our feilds of wheat at the end of this month, it feels timely to share this wonderful new event with you with a spotlight on the final product, using milled flour to make bread, and how this fits into our daily lives 🌾Sophia Lysaczenko will share an insight into the world of organic agriculture, and welcome you to the farm.

A day dedicated to eating well and living well 🌾

Spend a nourishing day in every sense with Nutrition Coach Joanna Issa and Chef Kate Foster.

The backdrop, Sheepdrove Organic Farm, a stunning setting nestled in the Berkshire Chalk Downs. The premise is to bring in a countryside setting to time out and slow down, to simply be, with an exploration of the accessable, evidence-based changes to food and lifestyle that can positively impact our health.

Learn how to make gut-friendly bread, and get inspired by a relaxed cooking demonstration of seasonal dishes. Later, we'll sit down together to enjoy a spectacular autumnal long table feast created by Kate Foster, bound to be as beautiful as the scenary around us willl be.

A gentle guided gentle stroll through meadows, ancient woodland, and to the lake, perhaps a dip if you feel like it, will round off the day leaving us fully relaxed, well fed and enriched with new skills and knowledge to bring home.

The Day
- introduction to organic and local food sourcing
- nutritional master class, deep dive into how eating, rest, movement and lifestyle are intertwined
- hands on-bread making, with our bread oven. Blend herbs hand selected from Sheepdrove's Physic Garden with locally sourced milled flour and watch your creation become bread
- a focus on seasonal whole food and how to explore the delicious tastes
- share a meal together, discussing how food is thy medicine
- take a guided stroll through the farm and connect with the practices and nature that is here

New on our Substack 🌼

Growing Things We Can Use, a little reflection sparked by a garden essay from food nutritionist Joanna Issa which got us thinking differently about flowers, food and everyday life.

It’s about the quiet joy of growing things that earn their place…on the table, in a vase, in the kitchen. Edible violas, herbs tucked between the dahlias, and why beauty and usefulness don’t have to be separate things.

Pop the kettle on (or make an ice cold drink!) and have a read - https://bohoflowers.substack.com/p/growing-things-we-can-use ✨

I spent three days last week at @stratfordlitfest and came away feeling inspired in so many different ways.

One of the highlights was listening to @prueleith embracing ‘Being Old’ with such warmth, humour and curiosity. Her reflections on the joys of ageing were honest, uplifting and incredibly refreshing.

It was then fascinating to listen to Arthur Snell discuss Elemental - an insight into the geopolitics of climate change and the wider changes shaping our world.

Alongside all the books and conversations, I found myself drawn again to the idea of nourishment and gut health. I came home with a copy of Ferment by @tim.spector and it reminded me how much I have wanted to book the Fermentation Basics workshop at @hamptonmanor, especially after attending their Nordic Bun workshop last week.

The Gut Health & Fermentation workshop @rivercottagehq is also a day that promises lots of insight.

I still think often about a Ferment workshop.I attended with nutritionist Jo Issa @1joissa. Jo is hosting a Living Well and Eating Well Masterclass at Sheepdrove Organic Farm, Axminster in September, where amongst sharing many nutritional recipes and tips, she will be demonstrating how to make gut friendly bread. I will certainly be there to learn this.

Another standout moment was @matthewricewatercolours brilliant ‘How To Look, Draw & Paint’ workshop. Funny, insightful and completely inspiring. A great book for those looking rediscover painting and drawing. His workshops at @ham_court_bampton look incredible, although sadly many are already sold out for 2026.

If you would like to try something new, why not come with me to Thyme in the Cotswolds this Thursday 14th May for a Nature Journal & Botanical Painting Workshop with the lovely @susannahtaylor, tickets can be booked through @wildflowermagazine. It would be lovely to see you there.

Last Sunday we gathered for a Spring Awakening.
Nutritionist Joanna Issa led us through fermented and pickled foods, colourful recipes, and the kind of meal that makes you feel genuinely good — using local, organic produce and ingredients straight from the shop.
We talked gut health, tasted everything, and went home with recipe cards and a new appreciation for what food can do.
Want to be part of the next one?
Nourish — Spring Awakening returns on Sunday 30th May at The Wolvercote Mill. Tickets and info in our bio.

I first met @1joissa when we shared a kitchen at work. She’d make her cup of tea while commenting on quite how many pairs of shoes I had under my desk 🤣.
We then caught up after we’d both left, she started telling me about all her learning in the nutrition space.
Well today I had a total treat attending her workshop with @tribezerowaste She’s got me right back into sourdough and taught me some brilliant recipes to help look after my gut and make my lunches so colourful they could challenge all those shoes I used to have under my desk, to a colour-off!
Thank you Jo, I loved it and the sourdough focaccia is incredible 😘

The first Oxfordshire Co-Working Huddle of the year, hosted by Community Manager Amy Waller in the lovely @witneybic co-working space!

It sold out!

A fantastic day of co-working (well, some of you 🤣), connection, and this time, a joint lunch & learn session thrown in from @jane_abbott_marketing and myself, themed “Smarter Marketing For 2026”...

Thank you Jane, and to all 25 business owners that joined me, fantastic to meet some of you for the first time and to see some Huddle regulars. There was a lovely atmosphere in the room that I felt, and I know many others felt it too, based on the messages I’ve received since...🧡

If you missed out on joining us, drop me a DM and let’s get you on the email list so you can grab a ticket to the next one!
