Incredible to have the CEV SCA Championships right here on home soil! 🏐 Great insights from the squad—you can tell how much wearing that shirt means to them. Get down to South Lake Leisure Centre and get behind the boys! #nivolleyball #cevsca

Yesterday was one for the books.

What an unbelievable atmosphere and high level of padel on display! Thanks to everyone who competed, supported, and made our first ever League Finals Day so special. And of course a huge well done to our champions:

That’s a wrap on the inaugural Northern Ireland Open 2026 🏆

What a weekend in Portrush. From sunshine to storms, the athletes were tested both mentally and physically, and delivered an incredible standard of volleyball throughout.

It was fantastic to witness top level competition across both our 4* event and the very first Northern Ireland 3* event on Sunday.

A huge thank you to everyone who competed, from our local athletes to those who travelled from across the UK and beyond to be part of this historic weekend.

From all of us at Fireball, it was a privilege to host this event, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to launch the Elite Series.

Mr Fireball, Sam Dunbavin, said: “We’re thrilled to have made history alongside Volleyball Northern Ireland by hosting the first ever UKBT Open in the country. I couldn’t have hoped for a better start to our Elite Series.”

And finally, what you’ve all been waiting for… your Northern Ireland 4* Open champions 🏆

Men’s
🥇 Endi & Patrick
🥈 Ivo & Derrick
🥉 Jonathon & Jeff

Women’s
🥇 Abigail & Anna
🥈 Tya & Mel
🥉 Anastasiia & Merve

Sign-ups for our next Elite Series event, The Cardiff Open, close at midnight on 18th May, so make sure to secure your spot while you can.

We were proud to host Kristof De Loose, Belgium coach, for an excellent practical clinic in our home hall. Thank you, Kristof!
