An absolute pleasure to represent Shine at this brilliant community sports day arranged by Rica at Clontarf GAA Club. Seeing everyone come together to raise funds and support a mental health charity that does such vital work was incredible.

I gave an overview of what Shine is, a national charity that has supported people with lived experience of mental illness, along with their families and supporters, across Ireland for over 40 years.

I also shared why I volunteer as an ambassador. It comes down to lived experience. Overcoming shame makes all the difference in recovery. I volunteer simply to be the voice I wish I had heard when I was struggling. Talking openly about mental health normalises life-saving conversations and lets us know we're not alone.

Massive thank you to Rica and the community for such a supportive day, your impressive efforts to raise funds for Shine, and for making me feel so welcome. 💚
