BẠN ĐÃ TỪNG NGHE ĐẾN BĂNG NHẠC THIẾU NHI CỦA BAN TUỔI XANH CHƯA?

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF BAN TUỔI XANH’S CHILDREN’S MUSIC TAPE?

While looking back at songs associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival, we found ourselves digging deeper into the story of Ban Tuổi Xanh, a children’s music group that became part of the musical memories of pre-1975 Saigon.

Listening back to these children’s songs got us thinking about how closely music can stay connected to childhood memories. And maybe that’s part of why, even after growing up, every full-moon season still has a way of bringing us back to something familiar from long ago hehe.

Research Note
This post was researched and cross-referenced by 29th Floor Radio using publicly available materials, including books, press articles, archival sources and existing digitized recordings.

As some information surrounding Ban Tuổi Xanh and pre-1975 recordings differs across available sources, details that could not be independently verified have intentionally been presented in broader terms rather than stated as absolute fact.

If you happen to have original materials, personal archives, or additional information related to Ban Tuổi Xanh, we’d genuinely appreciate any contributions, corrections or further context that could help make this story more complete.

Audio & Archival Note
Song titles, performer information and archival audio referenced in this post are credited according to the archival materials and digitized sources we consulted. 29th Floor Radio does not claim ownership of the archival recordings featured or referenced in this post. A PART OF SAIGON’S CHILDHOOD MEMORY

Ban Tuổi Xanh was a children’s music group active in Saigon, led by actress Kiều Hạnh from around the mid-1950s.

Beyond singing, its young members also learned music theory, dance and acting, while taking part in children’s programmes across radio, live stages and later television.

Over the years, Ban Tuổi Xanh became part of the childhood memories of many who grew up in Saigon before 1975.
