Turns out “dental technician” means spending a surprising amount of time brushing other people’s teeth. 🪥😂

It’s not the most glamorous part of the job… but it is weirdly satisfying, right? 🥲

From now on, I highly recommend telling people that’s what we do for work when they ask. It’s a great conversation starter… unless it’s a first date. 🙅🏼‍♀️🤣

My brain: I like clean, organised and one train of thought at a time 🧘🏼‍♀️

My career choice: Dust in every crease of my skin, noises that interrupt every coherent thought and multitasking across seven jobs at once 🤷🏼‍♀️

My 5 second funny reels get engagement like 📈📈

My image posts (like this one) where I’ve literally poured my heart and soul into a case, and then spent a long time putting the post together? 📉📉

💀💀💀🥲🥲🥲

Does that mean I’ll stop posting my cases to feed my algorithm? ✨absolutely not ✨☺️ Anyone else? 🥴

“It’s just a denture…” 😐😐😐

I understand why it might look that way from the outside. The final result might seem simple, but behind every restoration are hours of work, planning, and technical skill.

Dental technicians spend years studying anatomy, material science, digital design, occlusion, morphology, dental regulations… the list goes on.

The craftsmanship behind every case means patients can function properly, speak confidently, and smile naturally. Nothing we produce is one-size-fits-all. Every piece is made for an individual patient and carefully planned, even after the prescription arrives, because our role involves far more moving parts than most people realise.

Yet despite the years of training, qualifications, and dedication to the profession, technicians often remain the invisible part of dentistry.

Those who truly understand the value of skilled laboratory work know that what happens behind the scenes is just as important as what happens in the clinic.

Do you agree?
