"It was sunny, chilly, and crisp – just the way we like it...a perfect day to follow the twisting road along the Middle Prong of the Little Pigeon River. We researched the sites we’d see along the way – old white churches and mossy graveyards, faded red barns and old tractors, sparkling cascades and small waterfalls… but, the site we were really looking forward to was the narrow covered Emerts Cove Bridge, named for the area’s first settler in 1790, Frederick Emert. The tiny bridge is only one lane, but with little to no traffic, we were pretty much the only ones around...kinda’ just way we like it. 😊🏍💨 "

Those of us awake in the pre-dawn hour peeked out of our windows. We saw the slightest hint that Mother Nature held a promise. We quietly crept out of our motorhomes careful to let those still sleeping stay in their dreams.

Silently we gathered, young and old, in our PJ’s and slippers, along the edge of the campground. We waited and watched as indeed, Mother Nature kept her promise, painting a picture postcard of color, light, and magic.

Monument Valley was special in full sunlight, but it’s her intense, vibrant, and legendary sunrise I will best remember her by. #repost
