We're delighted to announce the arrival of @39thgateofhell to the Reaction Management roster!

39th Gate of Hell is a multinational, female-fronted art-punk band merging noise-rock dissonance with danceable, post-punk grooves. Splitting its base between Sheffield and Austin, the band is built around Turkish-born spoken word artist Ayşe Balkose and guitarist/singer Ash Gray of Austin, Texas, performing as a trio or quartet with a rotating cast of rhythm section players, 39th Gate of Hell channels the arty dissonance of early Sonic Youth and the raw energy of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, moving easily between whimsical, playful moments and seriously poetic subject matter — all anchored by a heavy, groove-led sound.

Fantastic night in the company of the great Jesse Malin at the Union Chapel. In equal parts breathtakingly moving, laugh-out-loud funny, barricade-kicking-over righteous and dance-like-no-one's-watching joyous.

Thanks very much to Jesse and to Chris Metzler for the invite. Good to meet Allan Jones and my old mate, card-carrying Texas troubadour Ash Gray and his other half Ayesha x
