💬 “Los hombres no lloran.”
It’s a phrase many boys grow up hearing, but it’s one we need to leave behind.

During our Men of Peace, Power & Purpose panel, we asked an important question:

How do we help our boys understand that expressing emotions doesn’t make them weak?

What followed was such a meaningful conversation among our panelists about changing the way we raise, support, and speak to the next generation of men. 🙏🏻

✔️ Boys are allowed to feel.
✔️ Boys are allowed to cry.
✔️ Boys are allowed to talk about what hurts.
✔️ Asking for help is not weakness.
✔️ Emotional strength is still strength.

Breaking the stigma starts with the messages we give our boys today.

Let’s replace “los hombres no lloran” with “los hombres también sienten.” 💙

If we want the next generation of men to communicate differently, we have to give our boys the language and the space to do it today.

We are honored to welcome Retired Sergeant Juan Carlos “JC” Prellezo as a special speaker at Men of Peace, Power & Purpose: A Men’s Mental Wellness Awareness Panel. 💙

After 28 years of service with the Miami-Dade Police Department, Sgt. Prellezo has taken the experiences and challenges of a demanding career in law enforcement and transformed them into a mission of healing, advocacy and hope for first responders.

Through 3A.M. FOG, JC advocates for first-responder mental wellness and creates space for honest conversations surrounding trauma, resilience, recovery and the importance of asking for help. His willingness to openly share his own journey reminds us that strength is not about suffering in silence, it’s also having the courage to speak, heal and help someone else do the same.
