@culture_franklinnc did an amazing fried chicken Sundee dinner a couple weeks ago. The @3barnfarms fried chicken was accompanied by mashed potatoes, collard greens and biscuits! Then there was a strawberry shortcake for dessert. @hill_folk_flyfishing had an IPA by @burialbeer You should also know that the culture bartenders make the most lovely whiskey sour (first picture)! Thanks for a lovely meal out, Brandon! Hope this is a repeat event! #culturefranklinnc #firedchicken #3barnfarm #eatlocal #brewflowers

In today’s free HUNGRY FOR… post, I offer insight into my new(ish) job and explain why I am no longer the type of woman that LFO sang about. I also share the recipe for one of the two smoothies on constant rotation in our house, because it’s too hot to actually cook. Read more via the link in my bio.

SOUTHERN FRIED SUNDAY We’ve sourced local, pasture-raised chicken from our friends over at 3 Barn Farm to bring you a southern classic, family style Sunday supper. What we’re offering: 3 Barn Farm’s chicken brined in lemon, spices and aromatic herbs, then fried in buttermilk and seasoned White Lily flour. Served family style, meaning you get all the fixins → Buttermilk biscuits with honey butter, smashed red skin potatoes and gravy, braised kale and collards, and mac & cheese. Plus, strawberry shortcake for dessert. $25 per person, served for families of two or four. — 2 servings, $50 total: 1/2 a chicken, all the fixins, and dessert for two. — 4 servings, $100 total: A whole chicken, double all the fixins, and dessert for 4. These meals are LIMITED, so reservations are highly recommended for dinner (5-9pm) this coming Sunday, August 16 to ensure you get your Southern Fried Sunday Supper. We encourage you to make a note in your reservation ahead of time to let us know if you’ll be ordering a whole chicken or half, and how many servings. Here’s a little sneak peek at what you’ll be getting and the process behind it all. See you there!

On our travels to North Carolina we connected with @3barnfarms 🐓 *Who are also in the @cngfarming network!* It was so fun and inspiring to visit and meet farmers; Alex & Katie! It was fun to visit in July and see them in the MIDDLE of their season. As we are currently on our summer break! Ahhh growing with the seasons! Loved to see their honor system farm stand, farm procedures, poultry & cattle operation, see the deep roots they have in their community & what a positive impact they are making! Our old chef boss (from the former smiling bison 🦬) @the_josh_oakley sources from them for his restaurant; @culture_franklinnc It’s so refreshing to see farmer and community working so seamlessly together. Sourcing local is just a normal way of LIFE there! We were also able to go eat at culture 🤩 We had a completely delicious & locally sourced meal. Lots of nodes to the old smiling bison- which we loved. Our kids loved the sourdough pizza most of all 😂🍕Grateful for the connections we made in WNC! We are already looking forward to returning⛰️
