Mobinil’s 2012 ad song became part of Egypt’s collective memory a song people sang then, still sing now, and will probably keep singing for years to come!

Opening with “علشان لازم نكون مع بعض,” “Always Together” turned one simple idea into a four-minute journey across Egypt, bringing together different dialects, musical traditions, communities, and ways of life around one message whatever makes us different, we still belong to the same place. Mobinil itself described the campaign as a celebration of “the power of togetherness,” built around Egyptians from different regions, interests, and backgrounds coming together.

Written by Nasr El Din Tagi and composed by Ahmed Farahat, the song moved between Nubian, Coastal, Delta, Upper Egyptian, Bedouin, Sha3bi, and Rap influences, while also bringing in communities such as football ultras. Tagi later revealed that he wrote the entire piece in a single day, then reviewed individual sections with people from the regions they represented to make sure every part felt authentic.

Real local talents from across Egypt became part of the film rather than simply appearing as background faces, giving every section its own identity while still feeding into the same chorus.

Creatively brought to life by Leo Burnett Cairo, “Always Together” was directed by Ahmad Abdalla, with Tarek Hefny as Director of Photography, Nihal Farouk as Art Director, Tarek Nojara as Producer, Hisham Seliman as Executive Producer through Hama Films, Hany Saqr as Line Producer, Omar Zohairy and Mahmoud Shokri as Assistant Directors, and Hisham Saqr handling the Director’s Cut edit. Ahmed Hussein and Osama Arnaouty were credited on the creative team.

Recognition followed the cultural impact. “Always Together” won the Branded Content & Entertainment Grand Prix at the 2013 Dubai Lynx, alongside additional Silver and Bronze recognition at the festival, while Mobinil’s own annual report records two MENA Cristal awards among five international awards earned by the campaign.
