Last weekend I competed at @makobarbellclub after taking off over a year from being on the platform. A few people asked why and I told them well if I tell everyone I know or the athletes I coach “oh go compete, don’t be afraid” while this entire time I’ve been afraid what kind of coach am I? I want to practice what I preach. So go do the thing. Do it scared. Do it excited. Just go do it and you’ll be proud of yourself for it.
Thanks to my coach @adenney19 as well as my other coach @brengiddings for being so supportive as I got my sh*t together. Thank you to @taytay_retherford and my small child for never doubting me ever. Thank you to all my friends who came out to watch as well @paytonhancock__ for taking video!
Also shout out to all the ladies who competed that weekend. You are all amazing 🫶🏻🤘🏻

Had an awesome weekend learning and working with one of the best in the industry. Drove 6 hours away just to attend @joey_dino’s level 1 class. I left feeling more confident in my coaching and my crossover journey as an athlete. (I swear I’m gonna move my feet more)

If anyone is interested in getting their certification I highly recommend making the trip to Coach Joey and turning it into a vacation, just not the week after they get hit from a hurricane!!!!

At this meet although It did not go my way I learned that I can choose to give up after failure so I don't have to go through the struggle again or I continue chasing my dreams. I chose the 2nd option every time because I know that no matter how bad of a failure it is it all becomes experience for the bigger picture, and trying will of made me a better man no matter the outcome compared to if I gave up on myself.
