3½ STARS IN DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE! ⭐⭐⭐½

What an honor to have my latest album, ZALDIVAR | MCBRIDE | MELA — Meeting in New York, Volume One, recognized by DOWNBEAT, one of the most respected and influential jazz publications in the world!

The review celebrates the artistic freedom, musical chemistry, and creative interaction of our trio, highlighting the harmonic sensibility that shapes the music and the collective freedom that defines our sound.

I’m especially delighted to see three compositions singled out: “Walking with Christian,” “I Remember Monk,” and “Carribu.”

Sharing this journey with two extraordinary artists, Christian McBride and Francisco Mela, has been a tremendous privilege.

My heartfelt gratitude to Christian, Francisco, 577 Records, and DOWNBEAT Magazine for this meaningful recognition!

From Cuba to New York and beyond, the musical journey continues! 🌎🎶
