Another epic and successful HURT 100 weekend in the books!
There’s truly nothing like the @hurthawaii ‘ohana and trails.

This course demands everything you have to give: constant focus over technical, rocky, rooty terrain; relentless effort climbing up and over Tantalus again and again; and a deep belief that no matter how hard it gets, you can finish.

It takes guts to sign up, train, and toe the start line of this race. It takes even more guts to keep going when everything hurts and your body is begging you to stop.

I’m so proud of our team this year. Everyone worked incredibly hard to get to the start line in the best shape possible - back to back long runs, regular HURT loops, leg days, weighted climbing, speed work, etc… all while balancing life, work, and family schedules.

@slightly.disheveled_ and @morganjlopes both had huge PRs this year, each finishing ~5 HOURS faster than last year! They took what they learned, built on their fitness, and applied it to this race — and it paid off big time.

@thomaskurtj also ran a PR, but what stood out most was how he fought through the lows for the majority of the day and refused to let them take him out of the race. He stayed positive, focused, and moving forward to earn his 2nd HURT 100 finish.

@leahstickels ran her third and fastest HURT 100 this year, proving her resilience yet again after tackling a 200-miler, a 25-miler, and a 55-miler over the past five months. She’s now part of an exclusive group of “HURT 100 Veterans”!

This was @bloodhoundtrailrunnerskauai first 100-mile race and finish. He had his own set of battles leading up to and on race day, but he stayed focused, gritty, and got it done. He learned why they call it the HURT! And maintained a sense of humor even when sh*t got weird (literally, lol).

I’m incredibly proud of @thefullathlete for running her furthest distance yet — 80 miles! on this gnarly course. She may have run out of time this year, but she proved she has zero ounces of quit in her. I’m so excited to build from here and put everything learned, along with her determination, toward the next goal(s).

This weekend was a great reminder of why we do this. Congrats, team!! ❤️

Life’s been a full-on sprint since Peacock55 a few weeks ago. Balancing family, work, and training has been its own ultra…so here’s my slightly late victory lap.

Redemption isn’t given, it’s earned.

Finishing this year’s Peacock55 Challenge earned me a Golden Ticket to HURT100 in January 2026 🎫🌟

It’s wild to think how much emotion these moments hold.

Three ultras this year, two finishes, one DNF, and so many life lesson learned. Grateful for the countless (s)miles shared and the mālama of the HURT ‘Ohana that got me HERE.

My first attempt at HURT100 broke me, but it also rebuilt me with a fire I didn’t have before ❤️‍🔥

Mahalo to everyone who’s been part of this journey 🥰 This finish is the starting line for my next big level up.

HURT100, here I come 💯⛰️✨

Back in July, I fractured my right ankle in a technical downhill trail accident. Fast-forward to today… there have been so many adventures since the diagnosis! As an athlete, I was sad to give up most of my racing season, but it gave me a chance to step back and work on some good old-fashioned conditioning and strength. It’s been hard work. Day after day without fail. More time in the gym, eating more protein, and building a body that’s going to carry me into my 60s and beyond. I started with swimming, one-legged strength exercises, working on my upper body, eventually to riding my bike with toe cages, and then progressing to walking… then hiking and finally running. Road first and the ultimate test was our technical trails. I’m happy to say… I’m back! Always thankful for the machine of the human body. And I can’t forget the support of my friends along the way. So patient and kind! I love you all! #runhawaii #injuredrunner #strongerthanever #strengthtraining #hawaii #trailrunner
