Es ist wieder diese Zeit des Jahres, in der die Luft etwas kühler, die Blätter etwas bunter und der Gravel wieder darauf wartet, dass wir losfahren. Ja, es ist wieder Halloween 👻 Season! Also, holt eure Kostüme raus und macht euch bereit, am 31. A little update on the Bike Parts Flea Market, October 23–24! Slight change of plans! Since we have to wrap things up by 17:00 on Saturday, we’ve moved the hanging out part to Friday evening instead. So we’ll kick things off on Friday with an art show by @i.draw.on.bikes and @@einzelkin0, with some drinks and music together with @crank_communication and @grabowskiproradsport with music from @feinkosttwang. Come check out the bike stuff going on at @heynhöfe Saturday starts with a gravel ride at 9:00, before the flea market from 13:00-17:00 Friday, October 23 18:00–22:00 — Arsty Fartsy Happy Hour with Athletics of Desire, drinks & music Saturday, October 24 09:00 — CX-style gravel ride, 2 hours 13:00–17:00 — Bike Parts Flea Market and Art Show open all day IMPORTANT: Come sell your stuff on Saturday! I used to think cycling could fix almost anything. Turns out, even my favourite coping mechanism has its limits. Lately, getting out of bed can take more effort than climbing an Alpine pass. And now I finally understand why some people choose sports on a schedule: apparently, motivation isn’t always included in the package. For years, I kept going, adapting, solving problems and moving on. Rest was apparently a premium feature I never unlocked. But what happens when the old survival mechanisms stop working and the new ones haven’t been invented yet? #ComplexPTSD isn’t always the result of one extraordinary event. Sometimes, it’s the accumulated weight of too many things happening without enough time to recover. And no, you can’t simply ride 100 km and expect your nervous system to submit its resignation 🥲 So here I am, somewhere between wanting to disappear into the mountains and struggling to put on my cycling shoes. Trying to figure out what comes next, without turning recovery into yet another performance project. For now, I guess the goal is not to push harder, but to learn how to move forward without constantly having to survive 🛤️

Took some pics, just because 📸 Back in August, I joined @bananamamaboom on her adventure of hand-painting a bike frame for @8barbikes to celebrate their 15th birthday. The artistic result turned out amazing! You could see it in Berlin and in social media content. Wenn die Tage kürzer, die Trails matschiger und das Wetter unberechenbarer werden, beginnt die 8bar GRAVELO100. Die 8bar GRAVELO100 ist eine 100 Kilometer lange Gravel-Challenge im Herbst. Es ist kein Rennen. Es gibt keine Rangliste, keine Bestzeiten und keine Ausreden. Es geht darum, rauszugehen, durchzuziehen und eine richtig gute Zeit auf dem Bike zu haben. Bei jedem Wetter. Denn im Sommer kann jeder fahren. Wir treffen uns am 25. Oktober 2026 um 8:30 Uhr in Leinefelde bei der Bäckerei Helbing (Ernemannstraße 12, 37327 Leinefelde-Worbis). Hier kannst du dich bei Bedarf gut stärken, bevor wir unseren Social Ride um 9:00 Uhr starten. Wir starten gemeinsam durch – egal bei welchem Wetter. Denn Herausforderung ist Herausforderung! Nach Abschluss dieser Tour erhältst du den offiziellen „8bar GRAVELO 2026 100“-Patch und eine GRAVELO Finisher-Bag mit tollen Goodies von 8bar Bikes, DT Swiss, Schwalbe-Reifen und Shimano Deutschland!
