@8six14 Posting this while you’re asleep next to me. 😂 5 years is a long time, some of my best. My life is brighter for having had you in it. I have outdone myself this year with my photography skills and managed to capture you in all the silliest moments possible. I think thats just grand.

You know we have spent the majority of the relationship in England. Through all of it, the health, the careers, the lack of decent pizza we have been together. Truly a testament to your patience and heart. My family loves you, more than me sometimes. Which is wack but we both know you are the better of the two of us. You are all of the light I see in the world, you are all of the warmth in my heart and every day I am blessed and grateful to walk through this life side by side with you. I thank you for indulging all of my shenanigans and shortcomings of which there are many.

I hope we grow old together Princess. Happy 5 year anniversary to us!

Long time no see. I have been up to a lot since we last had a chat as you will see. This is a check-in so I hope you all are doing well, eating well and sleeping well. Take care of yourselves, life’s hard enough out here without that.

From LA to Ibiza, London and soon NYC and Jamaica, the year so far has been silly and beautiful and sexy and filled with love. These are just a few moments with some beautiful people and my beautiful person that I am happy to share with you all.

Ibiza was dream and apparently “its every year til we die” is the slogan which honestly, I am down for. My friends, new and old,are truly wonders and I am beyond grateful to have met them.

Celebrating my parents 30th Anniversary in a few weeks so stay tuned for that as well. My own anniversary of 5 years with my goofy princess @8six14 I got a promotion to Head of Security/CISO/half a dozen other titles. Growing in some other ventures as well 😉 IYKYK

Circus saved my life.

Four years ago I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition. Dermatomyositis. A condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks skin and muscle tissue. I had just relocated internationally to complete a degree in circus arts. It felt like my career had been given a death sentence. I joined support groups and read about patients living in wheelchairs, patients reliant on regular antibody infusions, and even fatal cases.

I feared that this disease would rob me of my dreams. But the opposite happened. My dream saved my life. My circus training had offset the disease progression by not allowing my muscles to atrophy at the rate of a typical patient. And because I had a heightened awareness of my body, I received my diagnosis at a far earlier stage than the typical patient. Muscle atrophy begins at the core and travels outwards. Most patients investigate when they experience muscle weakness in their arms or legs. My muscle weakness never progressed that far. This meant that when I began treatment, the muscle damage was entirely reversible.

And while I navigated a 9 month-long process of finding a medication that worked for me, continuing to train gave me something to fight for. Training through that period was incredibly humbling and required an insane level of faith and patience but it saved my mental health.

When I received my diagnosis, I thought I had lost circus forever, but instead circus saved me.
