Elizabeth Atterbury and Meghan Brady are included in the group exhibition ‘DownEast,’ opening this Friday, August 28 at Pond Gallery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. “Pond Gallery, in collaboration with the School of Art (SoA) at the University of Arkansas, is pleased to announce Down East, a group exhibition featuring nine artists living and working in and around coastal Maine. Guest curated by SoA faculty member Marc Mitchell, the exhibition introduces their work to Arkansas for the first time. Down East brings together artists who share a deep reverence for both the history and landscape of coastal Maine, exploring its enduring influence on those who call it home. Through painting and sculpture, their work reflects a profound knowledge of, love for, and stewardship of place. Though geographically distant, Mitchell draws meaningful connections between the artistic traditions and sensibilities of rural Maine and the Ozarks, inviting us to consider how seemingly disparate communities can find common ground through landscape, tradition, and home.” 📷 Elizabeth Atterbury Gift, 2026 Sculpting Foil, Brads, Wood 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 2 3/8 inches 8.9 x 7 x 6 cm Photography by Jacob Holler Meghan Brady To Last, 2024 Acrylic and Oil on Canvas 12 x 9 inches 30.5 x 22.9 cm Photography by Olympia Shannon

Farmers’ Market Flowers! Plus, an extra day off with Ev (donuts and peaches), checking out the great show at Pond, saying goodbye to our late night bud Stephen, being a passenger with our big kid student driver 🥹, Ev bowling for the first time at a bud’s bday party, putting flags out for Memorial Day (which feels tough right now, but also important to remember the history of the holiday in the first place), Bulleit sunning and stunning on the front porch, and a little pre-8th wedding anniversary with our little fam—complete with smash burgers, Andre for adults/sparkling apple cider for the boys, and cupcakes decorated by Ev. Not pictured: first trip to a pool this summer, where Ev wore himself out and slept in the next morning until 8am. ❤️ Also reminders of being grateful for health, family, friends, people in our communities, and remembering those that are no longer with us.

Exhibiting @______pond______ gallery Arkansas USA. 05/22-08/08 Titled: ‘Outpost l’ This little blackbird will be Exhibited at Pond Gallery, Arkansas, USA. Recently I’ve been exploring ideas surrounding “future primitivism” — archetypal shelters, timeless forms, and objects that could belong equally to the distant past or an imagined future. The wood is treated using Yakisugi, the Japanese technique of charring cedar to preserve it against weather, decay, and insects. Burning the surface feels less like destruction and more like revelation — exposing something ancient held within the grain and fibres of the material. Perhaps ‘Time’? Part shelter, part monument, part small creature. Constructed from charred wood, steel and perched on organic elements- the sculpture exists quietly between nature, ritual, and design — somewhere between artifact and inhabitant. #Yakisugi #FuturePrimitivism #Birdhouse #WoodSculpture #PrimitiveFuture
