There are some places and moments that sit at the top of the hierarchy, and this one is that for me. When we all got to camp, I was obsessed with the various ridgelines around me and I knew that I wanted others to come wander with me since I’m basically grass fed meat for a bear (since I try to be mostly plant based). I found a potential line that I thought would be super epic. It turned out it was going to be a boys night while the girls opted to stay at camp and catch the beautiful evening from there. The track was about 8 miles round trip and some elevation gain through stunning meadows, alongside a glacial stream bordered by cliffs, snowfields, and once on the ridge, an epic glacier with endless peaks and wetland in front of a sweet sunset. On the map, the mountain was unnamed, so we called it Pookies Peak and named the glacier, Girls Night Glacier. We hung out up there until the Alaskan sunset of…around 10 pm. We began our descent and spotted a massive black bear running across our meadow and later, a moose running about 40 feet from us under the rising moon. The only thing more Alaskan would be to also have an eagle swooping and a wolf howling, but we’ll take it! I felt filled with an energized soul and can still feel it when I look at the pics and videos.

When your 2 favorite seasons collide 😍

It’s been a while since I’ve took out my actual camera and took pictures on it. I went up to New Hampshire for some fall foliage and got treated with snow covered mountains and peak foliage. One thing I wanted to experience for a while now and I’m so happy I got to share it with @___nicksantos___ ❤️

Sometimes you need to just see things in a different perspective, while there’s version of Nick everyone knows through his social media they would say he’s loves to go fast and do extreme sports. In times like this, I get a version of Nick that no one else gets to experience. The one where he’s patient, slows down enough just to enjoy sitting by a fire at camp in the middle of no where. The version that will sit out all night with me just to look at the night sky. The version where he’ll hike at my pace just to ensure we hike together the whole time on trail. The version that would climb all the 5.3’s in the gunks with me. The version that will sit for hours just to watch wildlife in their natural habitat. The version that will snowboard a bunny slope just so I can learn how to snowboard from him. The version that even when he’s tired he’ll still play horses and school with Faith. I appreciate that I get this version of Nick ❤️

One of our favorite places as a group was camping at Lost Lake. It was our last full day of pretty nice weather and the hike out was in the clouds, so we were all set on soaking in the views on the hike in and while camping. It felt surreal being out there and also on alert because it sure seemed like animals would also thoroughly love the area. It took a moment to find where we all wanted to camp in the back country, but once we did, there were no regrets. Private, wild, stunning; what more could you ask for?

I would love to relive this day.

To feel the crunch of crampons on the ice, the glacier water pouring over my face, and the rush of standing in this place for the first time… To experience that kind of awe all over again.

But the truth is, I couldn’t ever relive this day exactly as it was.

A glacier is constantly moving, shifting, melting, and changing. The ice beneath our feet that day was already on a journey of its own. If I returned tomorrow, the crevasses might be different, the shapes of the ice would have changed, and pieces of this glacier already gone.

And maybe that’s what makes this day so precious.

We’re so often chasing the next adventure, already thinking about where we’ll go next, that we forget we’re standing inside a moment we’ll someday wish we could experience again.

Places change. Glaciers melt. Seasons pass. People grow. And no matter how badly we want to, we can’t step back into the exact same moment twice.

So I’m trying to remember to be fully there while I’m there. To take it all in. To appreciate the places that exist today, knowing they may not look the same tomorrow.

Some adventures are meant to be remembered, not repeated. This day will forever be engraved in my heart and soul.

Night hike. Stars. Milky Way. Mushrooms. Trail run down. River swim. Good Food. Camp. Super secret ice cream twice. Climb. Repeat.
Spent the whole weekend with good company!
