I’m working on a series of hand embroidered constellations of modules inspired by watercolor modules that I painted which I’m turning into larger constellations. I’m knee deep in constellations and modules and I love it. I dream colorful circular shapes.
Thank you to @___s_e_a_m___ for the artist in residence weekend which allowed me the time and space to take those dreams, piece them all together- and see them come to life. 💖💖💖

I’m still reveling in my experience from this past weekends ‘artist in residence’ at @___s_e_a_m___
I think it’s safe to say I had a good time.
And also, much work was accomplished- which I promise to show more pictures of soon soon soon. In the meantime here’s a pic of me with one of my ‘module’ counterpart sets- one in watercolor, one in embroidery!

Congratulations @___s_e_a_m___ ! The Sewing, Embroidery, and Art Museum is the fifth largest museum in Sacramento, containing the most works of art by contemporary women this side of the Mississippi.

Our Corinna is a leader in elevating and preserving the textile arts. Today’s artist talk with @anastridendeavor was not just a phenomenal success ~~ but also a significant milestone in the development and preservation of this important collection.

The SEAM collection was safely moved to its new home and today celebrated the completion of the museum’s first artist residency, which Astrid wa sable to leverage into an opportunity to work big toward a project that’s been in development for over a year.

What phenomenal enrichment for the entire Sacramento enclosure!

Had an incredible visit with Corinna who started @___s_e_a_m___ Sacramento Embroidery Art Museum as a way to showcase her private collection of over 300 pieces of amazing embroidery and textile art (can you guess which piece was her first over 10 years ago??? Hint: I made it!)
Book an appointment ASAP to see this amazing collection and hear all of Corinnas stories and knowledge of these amazing works of art!
And please tag yourself if you see your work included! I know there’s @_.baobap._ and @mother_eagle_arts and soooooooooooooo many more!!

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Corinna of @___s_e_a_m___ yesterday in Sacramento! This incredible museum of embroidery and textiles, thoughtfully collected and curated over YEARS, started with one piece made by yours truly (the emerald green gem) over 10 years ago and has lead to many more of mine and SO MANY incredible embroidery artists from all over the globe- now all under one roof for anyone to see! It is a mind boggling collection- so full of creativity and color, skill, style, technique- SO many stories that Corinna shares during your visit. It is truly something to behold and listening to Corinna talk with such passion for the art of embroidery and textiles made my little stitchers heart and hands swell with pride and joy.
I don’t want to be accused of being bossy (yet again) but do yourself a favor and book an appointment to go and see for yourself. And did I mention that it’s free?
Thank you again Corinna. I can’t wait to be back very soon to see you and to spend lots more time amongst all those stitches and imagery!
