Magical moments captured at Word of the Year (WOTY) 2024.

Thank you to all who participated in person or virtually!

We iced dyed some tote bags with @katyatch last year and used them yesterday to teach people how to add pockets and decorate their tote with heat transfer vinyl. These colorful tote bags featuring each person's word of the year turned out great! We love seeing all the beautiful totes decorated with their word of the year.

We were very grateful to host and teach at such an intimate gathering. Thank you to @evenhoward for sharing sewing knowledge!

After everyone was done decorating their bags, we each shared the meaning and why we picked the word to represent 2024.

Circles in San Fran. Shoutout to @yvonne (2) for showing up to Polacon with a crutch, one day removed from a screw being detached from her foot. I carried around a lot of gear as well so you could say we’re equally as brave.

An absolutely GORGEOUS time in the gallery tonight, shooting Type 55 portraits. (We thought we’d be shooting Instax, but dug up this random stash, expired in 2002!) Thank you to the folks that stopped by. New faces and familiar faces! Love to see both.

Next First Friday will be the closing reception for our Member’s Exhibition. 6-9pm on Friday, February 2nd. See you there!

Oakland Photo Workshop is located at 312 8th Street, in Oakland’s Chinatown neighborhood.

Two portraits of @___tabula___rasa___ in North Beach from last weekend’s @sfinstantphotowalk. Both shot with prisms, one using the I-2 camera from Polaroid with a purple filter attached and the other with a Fuji SQ10
