from the series 𝘍𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳

Two women.
One sits upright, grounded and present.
The other rests her head gently on her friend’s leg.
Their bodies relaxed. There is no performance. Only trust.

It has always taken me time to truly open up to other women. I often feel they see deeper - they sense what’s underneath. And sometimes my guards rise before I even notice. I protect myself from being fully seen.

When I began series 𝘍𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, it was a promise to soften. To open my heart. To allow vulnerability without shame. To explore what connects us as women beyond comparison, beyond competition.

In this work, I portrayed my two closest friends, Lia and Anamaria. Women who have held me emotionally and whom I have held in return. With them, I don’t have to impress or hide. I can simply exist - imperfect, sensitive, real.

There is a quiet strength in female friendship.
You understand each other without explaining.
You move in the same rhythm.
You feel safe enough to unfold.

𝙀𝙇𝙇𝘼𝙎; 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔𝙄𝙉𝙂 is my gratitude for that kind of sisterhood -
for softness that doesn’t weaken,
for closeness that doesn’t demand,
for women who allow each other to be.

$Did I ever tell you that every time I post it feels like a double edged sword? I want to live in a world where people use their phones less and show up more for each other and then I go ahead and create videos for ppl to watch. I told this to my oldest daughter and she said “yeah, but you’re not posting trash. You get comments all the time that ppl feel good seeing the interactions and it makes them want to interact more in their own communities” … to which I responded, I get you’re right. Anywho, I’m currently working on using my phone way less and especially working on not picking it up first thing in the morning. If that’s something you’ve been thinking about doing as well, I just wanted you to know it’s a great idea. And if you’re going to use your phone/socials, I encourage you to use as a tool to support being the best version of yourself. To me, that means eliminates distracting pages and reminds me to focus on people and pages that inspire me and help me to feel like I want to do more in this world than just exist.
