Progress looks different in every child ☀️

None of these behaviours is automatically “progress” on its own.
They can be signs of progress depending on the child, their therapeutic goals and what is observed over time.

Sometimes, we’re looking at capacity and change over time.
We look at patterns, context, the child’s individual needs and connections with their inner world.

About last night.

Finding Strength Together was more than a forum. It was an evening of honest conversations about the realities many women quietly carry every day.

Our distinguished speakers brought different perspectives shaped by their own professional journeys and lived experiences. We explored the invisible load of balancing career, family and caregiving, raising children with unique needs, protecting our mental well-being, and finding purpose amidst life’s many demands.

Rather than offering perfect answers, the conversation created a safe space for reflection, learning and mutual encouragement. It reminded us that strength is not found in carrying every burden alone, but in having the courage to seek support and share our stories.

The evening also demonstrated what Women of Impact hopes to build - a community where meaningful conversations inspire practical change, where women connect across different walks of life, and where every participant leaves feeling seen, encouraged and better equipped for the journey ahead.

Thank you to our moderator, Datu Dr. Hajah Rashidah Bolhassan and our speakers, Jodie Sim, Dr. Joyoki Chen , Evelyn Lim and Kim Tan for sharing your wisdom with authenticity. And to everyone who joined us - thank you for making the evening one of warmth, thoughtful and honest dialogue and connection.

This was not just a conversation. It was the beginning of many more conversations that matter.

Over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of working with children under clinical supervision as part of my Therapeutic Play Therapy training.

Every child has reminded me of the power of play. It has been incredibly rewarding to gain a glimpse into their inner world and support them in expressing emotions, building resilience and growing at their own pace. Therapeutic play is a gradual process that takes time, trust and consistency, and seeing children grow in confidence, emotional expression and connection reminds me why this work is so meaningful 💛💛

I’m pleased to share that I will be opening more spaces for child clients and look forward to supporting more children and their families on their journey.

Topic Introduction | Connected Caregiver

Every behaviour tells a story.

Tantrums, silence, clinginess, frustration—these are often not just “behaviour problems,” but a child’s way of expressing emotions they may not yet have the words to say.

In this meaningful session, Kim Tan, Founder of Kinder Minds Therapy, will guide us through the principles of Connected Caregiving—helping parents and caregivers understand what lies beneath a child’s behaviour and respond with empathy, confidence, and connection.

Together, we’ll explore practical ways to:
✨ Understand your child’s emotional needs
✨ Strengthen trust and connection
✨ Build a secure, supportive relationship that lasts

Join us as we learn how connection can become the foundation for raising resilient and emotionally healthy children.

BREAK THE CYCLE! It is harder than it sounds but with enough of us understanding this and being open and compassionate, it can be done and has been done. It starts with the proper sex education. #tuaktalk #podcast #sexeducation
