Simbie has a long standing connection to low frequency music. With dubstep at the centre, her selections move through dub, steppas, footwork, jungle, drum & bass and beyond, shaped by a decade spent in Eora’s (Sydney) warehouse scene - now based in Naarm (Melbourne). She’s played clubs and festivals across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, supporting the likes of biome, Joe Nice, A Hundred Drums, Truth, Nomine, and Enei. Having built a reputation for seamless blends that lean into darker textures and broken rhythms, her selections have also extended to guest mixes for Jah-Tek, E3 Radio, Dub Colony Music, and Modern Hypnosis. Simbie runs Gloam Music - a platform for events and collaboration that is centred on sound system culture and forward thinking bass. Having established herself as a well respected force in the community, she has collaborated with like-minded crews supporting local and international talent such as Truant & Rareman, Enigma Dubz, Abstrakt Sonance, Innamind Recordings, and Kahn & Neek.

HEX are taking over The Boombox on Monday at Earth Frequency Festival 2026 🐝 Born on the Sunshine Coast from a shared obsession with sound, design, and permaculture, HEX has been cultivating grassroots music culture and community connection since 2015. HEX has grown from humble campouts into a vital regional platform, driving self-produced gatherings like HUM Festival, hosting internationals like Mungo’s Hi Fi, and powering amazing stages for crews across South-East Queensland. Recognisable by their custom-built, handcrafted timber enclosures and signature honeycomb grilles, the system is engineered to deliver deep, effortless bass and pristine clarity, serving as a high-quality launchpad for local emerging artists. For their Monday Boombox takeover, HEX cross-pollinates the festival’s Full Bloom theme with their own HEX Bee ethos to bring awareness to the ecological struggles of the honey bee. Expect an immersive, community-driven activation featuring on-theme decor, curated dress-ups, roving edutainment, and collaborative back-to-back DJ sets powered by their heavyweight custom sound system, which will be bringing the bass to the Boombox for the whole weekend 🔊

It's that time of year again, where I get to fly down to freezing cold Adelaide to play some new originals and some of my favourite music out in the bush at my favourite festival! @wavecult_ ! Imbolc 2026, I honestly can not express my gratitude and excitement to be able to fly interstate for this, for the 3rd year in a row! It's an absolute blessing and privilege and is the highlight each year I've been invited. I have met some of the most amazing and talented, creative spicy brain people like myself there. Created life long friendships and memories and I'm excited to do it again! Looking forward to everyone I get to see again, and any new faces I meet. See ya on the otherside! #bassmusic #grime #wave #140 #dubstep
