Though he doesn’t get the ball much @sateki_tongi makes sure he makes the reps he does get, count.

Going from one team all little league to another team has brought quite a bit of a challenge.

But teki hasn’t changed as far as his passion for the game. He’s brought that same passion, tradition and culture to this new team.

Became a leader and introduced culture and pride to this team.

Out of 50-55 plays a game, he only gets the ball on average, 2-3 carries. Something he’s not use to.

Getting more defensive reps than offense. And still makes it count.

Different play books and coaching, the same effort every play.

You live and you learn.

This took us to the playoffs every year out of the 5 years of coaching. It won us a championship in 2021 with Sj and Alofa. And This established the run early in the game. When we scripted last practices before game day, the first play for our offensive drive was always “I right 42 blast.”

@mr_obeast coached dawgs that would follow us and play for us back to back to back seasons @naiuli_14 @wsob_kid. This play would help us establish early in the game, who the real dawgs were.

It would help us adjust to their defensive scheme. In our artillery, was about 3 or 4 well executed plays. “I right, 42 blast” would be ran more than 10+ times a game.

This play would get the defense to cheat in, get sucked in and then would allow, 46,47 power, vision, and even i right 42 fake qb boot. Or a fake to the 42 and a quick pop to the tight end.

We wanted you to know we were coming! Whether you knew the play or not. We didn’t care. 8 in the box and we knew us vs them, we would always chop away at defenses. We knew we could break teams down just by having our bigs upfront wear and tare down that defensive line and then they would “climbe” into their secondary.

Some teams knew we “just run middle” and then we do a 31 trap and ear hole the backer or nose trying to creep through the middle. Lol

When we say we run the ball, we really mean it. This game has gotten to soft, too flashy. Too much trickery and eye candy sht. The motto was “YOU CAN KNOW THE PLAY, BUT YOU HAVE TO STOP IT.” Good times @__tekway__

“It’s their first year with that group, they’re building….” “They had to rebuild, so they won’t be good..” “that group isn’t good they won’t do well..”

Yea yea yea. I’ve heard that excuse so many times as a way for programs to underachieve. that’s been a cover up excuse for alotta people. I’ve seen otherwise. Good coaches can change lives and programs in one season.

With football szn upon us and now being a fan in the crowd and no longer with a badge on the sideline. Can’t help but reflect on the past years coaching. This would’ve been 6 years of coaching youth football.

This group, 2 years ago was the baddest group I’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching. We started Coaching in the same district in 2021, and seeing these guys age group @sateki_tongi even played his first years with some of em, go by and just thinking: “ man, that’s a talented group.” And then seeing how many unsuccessful seasons they would have until we took over.

Fights, athletes fighting, coaches fighting. Parents being thrown out etc.

One season.. that’s all we had with them. 6 months. We would go 7-3 this season and lose to Stansbury in the Cougar Bowl Championship.

After the season, we would win the thunder bowl in Ogden. And then @__tekway__ would take the boys to Arizona and win out in the AYS Tournament. And later on some of the boys would go on to play with the Utah riders and fbu teams.

I sit and root and cheer and reminisce when i see these kids go to programs where coaches are 1st year HC. Programs like summit academy hs with coach young. Seeing coach tone at leuzinger go and take his boys to the chip vs San Clemente. I see Greg Olsen and luke keuchley take their middle school team their first time coaching and going undefeated last year. (Their ex pro bowlers though lol)

Too many soft coaches nowdays thinking being soft will produce success/ wins in this brutal sport. Kids in this fast paced sport respond well to coaches who don’t sugar coat. And coaches who can win. Hot take but kids would rather win than lose 🤷🏽‍♂️. And if you think you need more time, it ain’t guaranteed. 1 year or 3, fkin win! 💪😤
