I can’t stop talking about competing last weekend. Coach @emondy_barbells posted the recap, so here are some personality shots to match the lifts while I share my top 3 lessons from Nationals.

1️⃣ Every athlete has a different version of being “locked in.” I always thought I had to be super serious, but that usually led to overthinking and anxiety (as displayed through my squat performance 😅). Once I started dancing, joking around, and being myself, I made a comeback.

2️⃣ Powerlifting requires a strong mindset or the ability to get over things quickly. A missed lift can’t follow you to the next attempt. It’s you vs. you, and only you determine whether you keep pushing forward.

3️⃣ While my outcome wasn’t Top 3 or Top 10, baby, I placed 14th out of 34 lifters after being forecasted to place 19th. And that’s without having my strongest day (6/9). The biggest takeaway? I belong on that platform. I’m competing with the best of the best in the country, and that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

Nationals humbled me, challenged me, and showed me exactly where the next level is. The scary part? I’m nowhere near my ceiling yet.

Back to work. 🤎🏋🏾‍♀️✨

How are you already thirty? We were just seventeen—eighteen—playing ball, chasing dreams, and laughing without knowing how fast time would move. Somewhere between then and now, we became the new adults. Time didn’t just pass… it transformed us.

Not many people get to grow up together like this, to witness each other evolve in real time. I’ve watched you blossom, season by season, into the woman you are today. No long post needed, just love, just gratitude. Thank you for being my backbone, my constant, my sister in every sense of the word.

Love you for life 🤍

After years of competing, returning to the grind isn’t just about fitness—it’s about reconnecting with the passion that fueled us from the start. My job is to bring that athlete back into this new season of your life.
