What a ride...

After three incredible years at New York City’s leading, local broadcast news station, my time at WABC-TV has come to an end.

Thank you to my team, newsroom colleagues and mentors who have supported me these last few years. I started my time at Eyewitness News as an intern back in 2023. Looking back, I couldn’t imagine how transformative my internship with the digital team would be, let alone have the privilege of staying on for two more years.

From helping our team reach important milestones on social media, to working on some of our city’s most breaking news stories, I was on the frontlines of history as a digital producer. I’ve learned so much about web producing, content creation and livestreaming – foundational skills needed to excel in today’s digital age. I’m forever grateful to have been a part of the ABC family and help shape storytelling on the important and inspiring stories that matter to everyday New Yorkers.

It’s a bittersweet feeling walking away from the newsroom that I’ve called home, but a little voice in my head convinced me that I am ready for something new.

So, what’s next for me?

A little bit of rest, but a new opportunity awaits me in the near future. More on that soon, but for now, thank you to all who supported me along this journey. I can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Reporting from the newsroom (one last time),
Michael Tamsuriyamit, for Channel 7 Eyewitness News
