Just so you know…

Our favorite point of view is always YOU. So much work and anticipation goes into every art exhibit but it’s truly the best feeling when people stop and take in Mom’s art, want to discuss how a piece resonates with them, or want to learn more about her. It’s such a hands on process up until the doors open and then we step back. In that moment, gifts are exchanged. We’re presenting the gift of art & culture, while you all gift us the opportunity to experience Mom’s art through your eyes…many for the first time.☺️ Thank you to our sister, Mariah, for including us in such a thoughtful exhibit! Mom made it to GoodYear Arts! Cloud of Witnesses is on display through May 30th in Charlotte, NC.🫶🏽

CHARLOTTE, NC -- TODAY -- FRIDAY 5/8

🟥⬛️🟩BLACK ART IS EVERYTHING🟥⬛️🟩

🟥
Start your weekend off with art at @hbganttcenter as they invite you out to the opening reception of their newest exhibition, Beyond Boundaries: Black Abstraction in the Elliot and Kimberly Perry Art Collection. Beyond Boundaries underscores the importance of Black non-representational art, situating it within a broader lineage of artistic innovation and self-definition. For nearly three decades, Elliot and Kimberly Perry's collecting vision has evolved from an early emphasis on figuration to a sustained engagement with contemporary abstraction, reflecting a deeper recognition of abstract art as a vital space for experimentation, expression, and cultural memory. FREE admission. 6-9p. 551 S. Tryon St.
⬛️
Experience divine creativity on canvas as @goodyeararts invites you to a special opening reception of their newest exhibition entitled CLOUD OF WITNESSES! This showcase explores lineage, legacy and ancestral presence harboring the notion that we in the present are molded by ancestral who came and sacrificed before us. But as we carry generational trauma, we delight with gifts of insurmountable joy, innate care, unparalleled creativity and unconditional love. As this exhibition is inspired by the scripture of Hebrews 12:1, it honors the truth that we never stand alone and that we are surrounded by memory, witness and inheritance.
This display will feature original artworks from:
@kalin_renee @mrlo__ @sirwilltheartist @ida.mae @rajumabey @alvin_thebeing @bryanwilsonmfa @sancho.smalls @shotbylindsay @jameanajeart @brittani.taylorr @marcprosper @_ratedretro and @artbysmccall Hosted & curated by @_aunthippie_ 🌹
Opening reception is from 6-9p. 301 Camp Rd. inside @campnorthend.
🟩
