immortal dark 🏫🍂🩸

although i didn’t love this one, im not rating because it is YA and i don’t think it would be fair of me. my buddy reading partner @_bookworming_ really liked this one and we usually are super in sync so this was a unique experience! i love dark academia, i love vampires, i love forbidden romance. i just couldn’t keep interest in this but maybe some of you will! nadia is going to give me the summary notes after continuing on with this series without me so i can still get closure.🖤

fave quote: “But every time she tried to leave him, he brought her back with the scent of violence. There was no need for promises of love or for quiet tenderness. Neither was allowed to feel the smallest spark of those afflictions. But perhaps their souls were made to be in eternal company. In devotion, in worship, in lust of brutality.” 🤌🏼✨

bury our bones in the midnight soil 🥀🖤
by v.e. schwab / buddy read w/ @_bookworming_

stunning, gorgeous, slow burn filled with sapphic & blood-thirsty vampires. don’t give up on this one! it’s slow to start but man, is it WORTH seeing through to the end. especially the alternate ending included in the ebook! ❤️‍🔥

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐓𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘~

I was sitting here with absolutely no post planned because apparently my ADHD only activates once my ass starts sweating from the pressure 🤣

Then @siimplyreads.eli tagged me in this cute trend and saved me from having to locate a single original thought. An angel, honestly.

Matching your book stack to your shirt [jumper] 🖤❤️

And if this stack proves anything, it’s that I have bloody good taste. I will not be taking questions 🤭🤭

I tagged a few to give this a go, but no pressure or save it for a rainy day when your brain doesn’t wanna brain!

Big loves x

NINTH HOUSE + HELL BENT
these are a work of art ✨

another top tier buddy read w/ @_bookworming_ 🫶🏼
these books have a dozen tabs each in them at least. i loved so many quotes and so many sections stood out to me. if you love a good “who dunnit” and you love dark academia, magic, demons, and secret societies - this is the series for you. 5⭐️ no notes, very much looking forward to the finale of this trilogy, and praying it isn’t rushed!

“There should be more magic. Not the creased-greasepaint performances of clowns and hack illusionists. Not card tricks. The magic he’d been promised would be found at the backs of wardrobes, under bridges, through mirrors. It was dangerous and alluring and it did not seek to entertain.” NINTH HOUSE

“That was the truth of magic — blood and guts and semen and spit, organs kept in jars, maps for hunting humans, the skulls of unborn infants. The problem wasn’t books and fairy tales, just that they told half the story, offering up the illusion of a world where only the villains paid in blood, the ogre stepmothers, the wicked stepsisters, where magic was just and without sacrifice.” HELL BENT

Thank you for the tag a while ago @joyreadsbuku 💐

I’m so late it’s now the start of summer lol but here’s my take! I tried to include a variety of genres and books, but I cannot escape my love for fantasy (nor do I want to) 🧚‍♀️

I’ve also tagged some accounts on the first pic I highly recommend and love, so please go check them out!

Thank you @briethereader for the tag! What a fun challenge! And difficult, it was hard to come up with books I didn’t like, I hate throwing shade at books honestly it makes me feel so bad because I just want to be nice. But these are just ones I disliked personally and of course, art is subjective.

It was fun to get a little festive with it! Join in if you want and tag me because I always love to see what everyone comes up with! 🏷️

Thank you for the tag @books.inframe 🥰

My first proper flatlay! I just used the growing pile of TBR books that sit on my desk + two books with covers I really like! (Dracula and If We Were Villains)

Did anyone have a reading goal for 2025?
I wanted to attempt to read 40 books, but sadly, I don’t think I’m going to hit it this year. But that’s ok! I’ve read a lot of amazing books this year regardless. ☺️

Sorry if I’ve tagged anyone who has already participated in this challenge. 😅

A far wilder magic by Allison saft - ☆☆☆☆☆
🦊
This is now by far my favourite standalone fantasy book of the year🦊
🦊
Wes and Maggie's relationship throught the book is just so beautiful, how they went from being complete strangers not wanting to be anywhere near each other to being infatuated with each other towards the end of the book in a way I haven't read before.
🦊
Wes and Maggie were both characters that were so lovable because of how unique and different they are from other characters I've read before.
🦊
Dont even get me started on the fantasy side of the book. Allison saft has so beautiful written this book, and it absolutely transported me into the world of wickdon while reading. The hunt and all the different religions in this book were so captivating to read about.
🦊
I would definitely recommend A far wilder magic as a winter read!!!!
