This morning I was reflecting on a few past moments. One was about a month ago we were out to eat as a family and @_braebegreat grabbed my hand off of the table, kissed it, and set it back down. Without missing a beat Baylor grabbed my hand, kissed it, and set it back down. Braden and I were both in shock at how quick he was to copy his daddy. I teased Braden about how Baylor is always watching him and that he needs to always do romantic things for me (lol).

The other moment was last night as we were walking into our house after being gone for the afternoon. As we were walking through the front door Braden saw a wasp trying to get in the house. He quickly grabbed a shoe by the front door and swatted it. He threw the shoe down and guided us in. As soon as we got inside Baylor grabbed a shoe and swatted it around in the air. Again we were so shocked at how quick he was to copy Braden.

During my alone time with the Lord this morning he reminded me of these moments. I smiled at the thought of them. I thanked the Lord for Braden and that our boys have such a great man to look up to as they grow up.

Immediately the Lord convicted me that they look to me too. They look to me and see how I react and respond to things. They look to me and get a front row seat to my relationship with God. When do I go to Him? How do I go to Him? These thoughts filled my mind and grieved me. My private time with the Lord is just that. Private. Usually while they are sleeping.

This clip is from this morning. The Lord asked me to record myself. I never do this. It’s too personal and that’s not what it’s about. But I obeyed. I watched back and saw my son running around and playing but also looking at me curiously. Then in this small clip you can see him looking at me and then immediately copying.

I feel the Lord wanted me to share this with my community. How are you showing your children to behave? How are you showing your children to respond? How are you showing your children to approach Jesus? Believe me. I’m asking myself these same questions. I’m not perfect and I’m still learning. I pray this blesses you and challenges you to know God better and trust Him more.
