Everything right now is built for speed.

Faster cuts.
Faster dopamine.
Faster forgetting.

And I get it. I make content too.

But the work that keeps me in this is the opposite.

Stories that slow you down.
That make you think about someone you love.
That feel human in a world getting less human by the scroll.

“Deep” is one of those.

A mom. A dad. A kid.
A house full of memories, then a house full of grief.

I’m really proud of this one.
The casting. The performances. The time and care every person on this team put in.

Ten years from now I’ll be a better director.
I’ll look back and see things I’d do differently.

But I’ll still be proud of this.

That’s the standard.
Make work you’ll still stand behind after you’ve outgrown it.

Projects like this are why I keep going.
More of these.

Everyone sees the final shot. Almost nobody sees what it takes to get there.

This one for Blackstone Cherry's "Deep" started weeks before we ever rolled a camera.

Pitching the concept. Building the budget. Coordinating travel to Nashville. Casting. Locking in gear and crew. Making sure the project could actually happen in a way that was sustainable for my team.

Filmmaking isn't just creativity. It's planning, leadership, and execution. The art only gets to show up if the rest of it does first.

The reason we worked this hard on this one was the story. "Deep" is about trauma, loss, love, and faith and how those things can pull someone out of the darkest moments of their life.

That's the kind of story worth doing right.

Huge thank you to Blackstone Cherry for trusting me with it.

Directing a cinematic music video isn’t about standing behind a monitor.

It’s about leadership.

Communicating vision.

Trusting your crew.

Casting the right talent.

Planning every moment before the cameras roll.

For Blackstone Cherry’s “Deep,” that meant bringing a full story to life in Nashville.

A story about trauma.

About loss.

But ultimately about the kind of love and faith that can pull someone back from the edge.

Those are the stories worth telling.

This is what real music video production looks like.

Not just cameras and lights.

But preparation.

Pitching ideas.

Building budgets.

Finding the right actors.

Traveling to Nashville.

Assembling the right crew.

And making sure the project works creatively and financially.

Because filmmaking is both art and business.

But the most meaningful part of this project was the story.

“Deep” explores trauma, loss, and the power of faith and love to heal.

That’s the kind of story worth telling.

And worth doing right.

Full video is out now.

Casting can make or break a story. 🎬

And I learned that the hard way on “Deep.”

We wrapped the production for Blackstone Cherry’s “Deep” over a month ago, and I’m still reflecting on how crucial casting was for this project.

This song dives into grief, loss, and the fragile journey of healing and telling that story meant finding the right people who could step into those emotional depths.

Not only that but when you’ve got a child actor involved...everything gets compounded and complicated REAL FAST if you don't cast well. You see, it’s not just about picking someone who can act. It’s about trust, care, and making sure every moment feels authentic, without crossing any boundaries.

Casting made this story real. Every second spent getting the right people for the roles paid off...TRUST ME. The actors brought honesty and fearlessness to their performances, turning what could’ve been a concept into something the audience will actually feel.

It’s a reminder: the right people turn a project from good… into something unforgettable.

I’m beyond proud of this team and can’t wait for you to see the final video in early 2026. 🎥✨
