And just like that, my first Greenville Spinners Time Trial season is over!

I signed up on a whim just to test the waters to see what I could do…and see what I could do, I did!

I showed up, braved the wind, SC summer heat, pelting rain, a few bolts of lightning, and came out blazing on the other side for a beautiful double rainbow finish—taking first place in my category for the 2025 series!

May - 28:13 (21.4 MPH)
June - 27:26 (22.0 MPH)
July - 27:08 (22.1 MPH)
August - 26:56 (22.3 MPH)

You never know what you’re truly capable of until you step out of your comfort zone. Yes, it’s hard and will be uncomfortable, but this is where the magic happens! This is how you grow to become the best version of yourself! Not just in cycling, but in every aspect of your life.

🤔 If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you try?

Global Running Day was kicked off by the team with our weekly Happy Pace Run Club. We’ve grown into a determined group that runs through every rainy or humid morning, watching the sun rise or in the dark, sweating or freezing. Some are Happy Pace athletes and some are runners looking for company. We provide accountability to show up and support each other in the workouts. This week was 1/4 mile repeats! How are you celebrating #globalrunningday ?

1st overall female at the Hincapie Chattanooga Medio 🥇Yet what I’m most proud of from this weekend are my athletes. It wasn’t planned but I ended up doing the majority of the race with two of my athletes. I saw how strong everyone has become, with great results and several of them getting on the podium. Irrelevant of results, it was what I always wanted: a true team. Winning was just the cherry on top. Along with the speed zone jersey I won last year, I got to add the QOM jersey this year. We won’t talk about my descent down the mountain in the rain 😅

The Happy Pace team showed up at the Carolina Regional Championship Road Race and Time Trial this past weekend. The boys got to race together in the men’s 30/40+ road race with Cliff in 4th by a bike throw and Camden in 6th. An unfortunate mechanical at Andrew’s first race left him hungry for his next race. Cali raced in the Cat 4 road race AND time trial coming in 2nd place!

Since no females ended up signing up for the women’s 30/40+, I asked the race director if I could ride with the men. It was a very sudden change in plans from my original training ride, leaving me feeling very unprepared but curious how a men’s race would go. I held onto the front group half, averaging over 25mph when I got dropped from yet another attack/surge. While saying I got first place sounds ridiculous, it was a fun challenge and another racing experience. It was great seeing my athletes in action, giving some directions in the moment and learning insights on areas they can improve.

The team is currently gearing up for another big weekend of racing!

Another weekend of racing and big training! @briannapatry won her AG at the Sassafras Struggle 8 miler and @camdensimon PRed each lap of the Tiger Town Classic Road Race. Happy athletes showed up in Tucson, AZ ready for a week of spectacular riding. We did a post-travel spin out ride to get ready for a big day of climbing.

First big weekend of cycling racing. Happy Pace athletes hit the Hincapie Spring Series on Saturday and Sunday. We had strong sprint finishes, teammates helping each other, a podium and first race experience.

I somehow always get roped into some crazy (fun) things 😂 50 mile bike rides with 4,000+ ft elevation gain, half marathons, 5:30 am rowing classes…

300 lb me would never have gotten up at 4:30 am to go rowing or any other activity! Over the years, I missed out on a lot because of my weight! There’s no guarantee for another chance, so say YES to the crazy things and show up not because you have to, but because you CAN (and because you have pretty great friends to do it with)!

Kicked off 2025 riding to a New Years 5K to support my athletes. I paced one to a PR and 1st AG. I turned around and found another athlete for her very strong kick to the finish. These are the types of moments that are special to me as a coach. Being there fully for my athlete and helping them push a little harder. Here’s to a happy beginning to 2025! May there be many more strong races this year. #newyearsrace #strongerfaster
